Elk Cove, making wine since 1977, is one of Oregon’s oldest wineries. Family-owned and operated, this winery consistently receives high marks from numerous wine publications. Far Niente, located in Napa Valley, was founded in 1885 by John Benson, a fortyniner of the California gold rush and uncle of the famous American impressionist painter, Winslow Homer. In 1979, Gil Nickel purchased the winery. Today, almost 40 years later, Far Niente has expanded their offerings to include, not only their renowned chardonnay, cabernet and dolce, but also their EnRoute winery, which produces Russian River pinot noir. This will be a special event, featuring wines from the entire portfolio led by Eric Penny from the winery. The evening will focus on their single-vineyard designated wine, Nickel & Nickel cabernet, Far Niente, EnRoute, their newest venture, Bella Union and finish with their legendary Dolce for dessert.

Dinner, 7 p.m., the Meritage Room, $175
Proprietors Jo Ann and Tony Truchard pioneered grape growing in the Carneros region of Napa Valley. This small familyowned vineyard makes 100 percent estate owned and bottled wines. The winery was honored as American Winery of the Year in 2003. Please join son, Tony Truchard, to sample wines such as his family’s famous syrah and cabernet sauvignon alongside a fine meal by Chef Bruce.

Drew Bledsoe, legendary quarterback for the Patriots, founded Doubleback in 2008 in Walla Walla Washington Where he grew up. He focuses on producing world class sustainably grown cabernet with elegance and balance. Since its inception this wines have garnered praise and notoriety as some of the best wines from the Northwest. Tonight is a rare opportunity to meet Drew and listen to his passion for winemaking.

Joseph Drouhin is one of the largest domaines in Burgundy and owns land throughout the region, including some of the most revered sites such as Clos des Mouches, Musigny, Clos de Vougeot and Corton-Charlemagne. Laurent Drouhin, one of four grandchildren who run the winery today, will narrate this evening’s dinner with the full array of their wines, including special past vintages, to commemorate the 32th edition of the Boston Wine Festival.

Nestled in the heart of Napa Valley and founded by legendary winemaker, Miljenko “Mike” Grgich, this winery is among the most recognized in California. His daughter, Carl Russo, hosts to celebrate their 42th anniversary. Tonight will showcase their richly textured and understated wines, from classic Napa chardonnays, zinfandels and cabernets to the vineyard’s dessert wine, Violetta. John Williams founded Frog’s Leap in 1981 with a commitment to sustainable and organic farming. His wines are considered some of the most age-worthy in Napa. In 2012, John realized a lifelong dream of producing a one hundred percent estate cabernet sauvignon. John has been a longtime friend and host to the Boston Wine Festival. Tonight, John will present a remarkable lineup of wines with selected vintages of some of his favorite zinfandel, merlot, and cabernet. This is an incredible opportunity to enjoy some of Rutherford’s best wines.
Batasiolo is located in the Langhe district of Piedmont, and produces wines from 9 estate vineyards. Their focus on Nebbiolo di Barolo grape, produces some of the top Barolos in the region. Join Ricardo March, Vice president of North America who will lead us through an array of wines from this highly recognized winery, while Chef Bruce creates a memorable meal featuring some of the ingredients from this unique region.

Acclaimed winemaker and accomplished musician, Robert Foley, was the founding winemaker at Pride Mountain Wines. In 1998, Bob and his wife, Kelly Kahoe, started their own boutique winery on Howell Mountain. They consistently produce highly regarded varietals ranging from lighter Rhone-style blends to their signature full-bodied reds. This evening will include their highly regarded Howell Mountain Cabernets. Dinner will also feature the “Griffin” as well as Merlot and Claret.
