Its always a treat to look back over the year and ponder on the past. Last April Becky wrote her final college exam, then returned home to start her full time position with UFA. In May we returned to Lakeland for her graduation as she received her diploma in Ag-Business Marketing & Livestock. Spring was very busy for Stacey as well as she competed in March and qualified for the Cattleman’s Young Leaders program. An awesome opportunity that has given her the chance to be paired with a mentor within the beef industry as well as tour head office of McDonald’s Canada, have her articles published on animal care, and attend the National Cattleman’s Beef Association conference in San Antonio, Texas. As Becky returned home from school, Stacey returned to the U of S to pursue her masters in Animal Science while working part time for the Beef Cattle Research Council. In June we headed to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan for the Canadian Angus convention. As always, an informative and hospitable weekend. July saw us headed for the Calgary Stampede with Red CD Dynamite 9`11 to be displayed on the Cattle Trail for the next four days. Its a pastureto-plate walk in which we had the opportunity to advocate for the beef industry. Becky had an awesome summer with her heifer, Red CD Ziva 703B, as she won bred and owned Champion Female at Showdown and bred and owned Reserve Champion Female at the Alberta Jrunior Angus Show. In August we celebrated both Grandma and Grandpa’s 80th birthdays. We are very proud that they are still extremely active and a vital part or our operation. Later in August we were honored to host the 2014 Southern Alberta Angus Club field day. Mother nature could not have given us a better day, as over 100 people enjoyed a very informative day, viewed some top-quality Angus genetics from breeders across Southern Alberta, then rounded off the day with an awesome Angus steak supper. In December we headed for Vegas - picture is worth a 1000 words. Lately we have been busy working on the sale barn. We have added some extra storage and a washroom, which is greatly appreciated by the women of the household. We have heard the saying so much lately, but it is definitely not getting old - what an awesome time to be in the cattle industry! An extremely strong market and a future that looks bright! HEALTH & FERTILITY delivery options

Leaving Bulls at the Farm: If you are not prepared to take your bull home at sale time, we are more than happy to keep them on feed free of charge up till May 1st. We highly recommend bulls be insured by the purchaser if returning to the farm. Delivery of bulls: We provide free trucking for the bulls up to a 200 mile radius, beyond that we will work with you to have your bull delivered. Delivery of Heifers: Due to a very limited corral space we require the heifers to be removed as soon as possible. If they cannot be removed sale day, or very shortly after, let us know and we will help you make arrangements. EXPECTED PROGENY DIFFERENCES - EPDs EPD’s are a tool used to predict how each bull will rate against his own contemporary group and the rest of the Red or Black Angus breed. A note to remember, EPDs evaluate group average and offspring’s performance. They cannot predict individual performance or weights. This March calf is one we would recommend using on heifers. His 78lb birth weight and smooth shoulders should allow for a good night’s sleep at calving time. However, like many of the Fat Tony sons, 68 still has lots of natural muscle in his hip and over his top.
