hat an exciting season of titles we have for our readers. Some have been years in the making and none will disappoint! Set on the Cote d’Azur, Eileen Gray: A House in the Sun tells the story of one of the most talented, unsung design icons of the 20th Century. Moving on to California with In Waves; AJ Dungo’s intertwines his deeply moving personal story with the origins of surfing, introducing us to the pioneers of the ancient sport. We now head further downstream, as we follow Charles Darwin’s maiden voyage in the gripping retelling of the HMS Beagle's journey in Darwin: An Exceptional Voyage. Next, Lorena Alvarez is back with her eagerly anticipated follow up to Nightlights. Hicotea: A Nightlights Story, is a beautiful modern day fairy tale with an environmental conscious twist. Finally, we delve back into the world of Slavic folklore with Tyna of the Lake, which brings to a close the action packed Gamayun Tales trilogy from Alexander Utkin… or does it? eet Eileen Gray, the architect behind the monumental E-1027 and pioneer of the Modern Movement in architecture.
In 1924, work began in earnest on a small villa by the sea in the south of France. Nearly a century later, this structure has become a monument for modern design. However, like so many gifted female artists, Eileen Gray's story has been eclipsed by the men with whom she collaborated - this story puts the focus back on Gray and her mastery of design. Dzierżawska's exquisite visuals bring to life the tale of a young Irish designer whose dedication and desire to create came to bloom during the 'Années Folles' of early 20th century Paris. Charlotte Malterre-Barthes is a French architect and urban designer who graduated from ENSA-Marseille and TU Vienna. She is currently Director of Studies of the MAS in Urban Design at the ETH Zurich, where she now lives. Zosia Dzierżawska is a Polish illustrator and comic author. Architecture and living/urban spaces have always been important in her work, as in her short story, Waiting Rooms. She also authored the full-length autobiographical novel, A Testa in Giù. She lives in Zurich. 9

AJ Dungo is an illustrator from California. He studied at the Art Centre College of Design in Pasadena, and his work has been shown in several group exhibitions in New York and LA. His work strives to create interesting atmospheres and feelings that viewers can have a reaction to.
