WELCOME to Issue 38 of our Bourkes Magazine! Second Best Month On Record! Sales Wow! What a month February was!. 37 sales ranging from $170,000 to $2.9 million. Congratulations to the James Thompson team for selling 21 properties in 1 month. A huge result! The shortage of stock in Perth (7823) compared to this time last year (12,400) has meant that buyers are competing for less properties. The resultant prices are often exceeding asking prices by up to $50,000. Investors are returning to the market with potential developers. Rents and capital values are increasing which attracts both buyer types.

Property Management Vacancy rates have been hovering around the 1% mark for months. The result is we often see 20-30 people at a home open and an average of 6-8 applications per property. Investors will be able to increase rents after the March 30 Covid Quarantine period expires. Many of our Landlords have taken a compromised rental to retain good tenants. 2021 promises to be a good year for all!

February 2021, Council deferred a decision to endorse the Recreation and Aquatic Facility (RAF) Business Plan until Council receives the report from DeLoitte in conjunction with Warren Green Consulting for the independent financial review of the Operational and Feasibility Business Case, so that Council has time to consider the review. The review report is expected to be completed in late February and considered by Council at the March Meeting.
