Get Active. Your Way. 1
Why strength and conditioning? Injury prevention During sport, athletes are exposed to high amounts of force through various sporting movements (eg. changing direction, jumping and decelerating). Through Strength & Conditioning training we aim to create physically robust individuals, able to tolerate these loads, thus reducing the occurrence of non-contact injuries such as sprains and strains to keep athletes competing as often as possible! 22
Performance enhancement – faster, fitter, stronger, better We also look to improve physical performance relating to the specific sport. By understanding the demands of the sport we can cater specifically for the athlete to help improve their game. This is not limited at just making athletes stronger in the gym but more efficient in their movement, improving agility, speed, force production and motor skills. All attributes that will increase the performance of an athlete.
What we do Strength and conditioning • Coaching and support to over 300 TeamBU performance sport athletes • Tailored sports specific programming for over 30 different sports • Quality coaches with elite sporting experience • Overseeing of injury support and management including rehabilitation.
Performance testing Athlete screening and testing are used to assess the current ability of the athlete. They highlight weaknesses (providing key information to allow us to provide specific injury prevention methods) and allows us to set markers and goals for improvement.
