Our amazing £66 million campus opened its doors for the first time in September 2011. Our students love it and we hope you will too! Over the next few years, you will see a new town centre develop around us in Longbridge, featuring Sainsbury’s, other shops and restaurants, youth centre, hotel, green spaces, residential accommodation and much more. The new campus spans 4.2 acres (equivalent to two football pitches), offering outstanding learning facilities to ensure that you get the most out of your learning experience with us.

your brand new college and its amazing facilities... Learning Zone This state-of-the-art facility situated at the heart of the College was designed for you in mind. It’s divided into different areas to cater for individual student needs and various styles of study. Whether you need to discuss a group project, browse through books or online materials, quickly print your homework or find a quiet spot to write your assignment, there’s a dedicated space just for you. With over 300 computers and laptops as well as wireless access throughout, the Learning Zone offers complete flexibility whatever your needs. It’s also home to our 40 seat cinema, frequently used by the film club and teachers alike.

The Street The Street Running along the length of the main building is the Street – it’s lively, fun and inviting. Looking for somewhere to sit down, eat and relax with your friends? Visit Zest, our main student restaurant, offering range of freshly made hot and cold meals and snacks. Would you prefer to grab a quick drink or a snack? Pop into Starbucks, Go!Sasa Deli Bar or visit our newsagents Urban News. Celebrating something special? Why not bring friends and family to Urban Flavours, our high quality training restaurant run by our catering students. Got a couple of hours to spare in between lessons? Our fitness suite and sports hall are run in partnership with European Corporate Wellbeing. The fitness suite contains over 70 work stations with fully integrated entertainment systems, as well as a sauna and steam room. Membership starts from ÂŁ9.95 for students under 18 years of age. The Sports Hall is often used by the student activities team for various sports including badminton, basketball, netball and more. In addition, fitness classes such as Zumba, Pilates, Circuit Training and more are on offer in the evenings.
Our hair and beauty salons Urban Elegance and Urban Serenity provide outstanding facilities and resources for future hairdressers and beauticians training with us. They function as commercial salons, proving a popular choice amongst our students who enjoy coming here for a range of treatments leaving them refreshed and rejuvenated.
Urban Flavours is a training restaurant for our catering students. Offering high quality dining, using fresh locally sourced produce, Urban Flavours is also open to general public as well as our students. It offers an extended range of services, including afternoon tea, twilight sessions, festive food and more.

Much more than... a place to study
When our students join us, they get much more than a learning experience. There is a whole range of extra-curricular activities available to ensure that you get the most of your experience with us. Student activities Urban Chill, our dedicated student lounge, also houses the Student Activities Team. They organise and manage a calendar of social events which includes a range of trips and visits to places such as Alton Towers, Warwick Castle or Drayton Manor Park. Other activities organised by the Student Activities team include paintballing, bowling, ice skating and much more.
Enrichment Fair and other themed events At the start of each academic year, we hold an Enrichment Fair, giving you an opportunity to sign up to various clubs and activities across the College and the local community. In addition, there are several themed weeks held throughout the year, focusing on issues that help you live a better life. Be Safe Week, Health Awareness Week and Student Volunteering Week enable students to become a part of the vibrant College community.
Student Union When you join us, you automatically become a member of the Student Union. Elections, where all students are eligible to stand and vote, decide the members of the Executive. The President then sits on the College Corporation which is the highest decision making body at the College.

The Buzz The student magazine The Buzz is a popular publication featuring articles contributed by the students discussing the latest news from around the College. You can pick up a copy from Urban Chill.
Getting involved Our students are given an opportunity to work as volunteers with a range of local organisations and the community. They also get involved in a range of fundraising events for well-known charities and initiatives, such as Children in Need, Comic Relief and Acorns Children’s Hospice. Many students also become Student Ambassadors, helping a range of departments during events. The tasks may include meeting and greeting visitors, conducting student tours or event participating in a college photoshoot or a video.
Sport Development Centres We have sports to suit everyone. You can improve your health, increase fitness, make new friends and have fun. Whether you want to play recreationally or compete against other colleges then you’re in the right place. You don’t have to study sport, you can join one of our Sport Development Centres in football, badminton, basketball and netball. You will be able to attend training sessions with qualified coaches, represent the College in the British College League, earn nationally-recognised qualifications in your chosen sport and we can even help you coach abroad. Much more than... a classroom
Regardless of your course, you’ll be given a chance to take part in exciting trips across the UK or abroad. Our students value the experience that comes with a trip as they provide heaps of stimulating experience to enrich their learning. Whilst with us you may be able to visit a range of places related to your course of study. In the past, they have included trips to museums, galleries, nature parks, sport venues, trade shows and even organisations for career related seminars. The trips that take the students abroad are always the most popular choice. Student support...
Every student at Bournville College is treated as an individual and that includes providing individual support tailored to their needs.
Personal tutor... You will be assigned a personal tutor at the start of the course and during your time at the College this person will be your first port of call for any problems. They will provide you with one-to-one support and encouragement throughout your studies as well as point you in the right direction if you need further support and advice.
Careers team... The Careers team will work closely with you during your time at the College, preparing you for your future. In addition to providing one-to-one support at our specialist Careers Centre, they organise regular events and activities to help you decide what you want to do after you leave College. These include visits to universities, talks by employers and the annual Higher Education Fair.
Counselling... We believe that it is important for you not to be distracted from your studies by problems and concerns occurring either in or outside college. Penny Brown and Sonia Herbert, the College Counsellors, provide a confidential counselling service to all students. You can talk to them about any issues which are troubling you.
Advice Zone... The Advice Zone is a client centred front line service that provides students with impartial information, advice and guidance. The centre is located at main reception and our specialist team of staff deal with all types of enquiries including course information, admissions, enrolment, bus passes, funding, out of hours fees, first aid requests, lost property, and appointments for Careers, Counselling, Funding & Welfare advice.
Student funding & welfare team‌ Finance is an important factor when deciding to go to college, however, you don’t have to let a lack of money prevent you from attending your course. The Student Funding Team is here to ensure you get the best advice and support. If you would like more information or speak to a member of staff, please contact Student Services where the team will be happy to assist. The Brook Advisory Service... Brook is the country’s largest young people’s sexual health charity.
