Principal s Welcome Thank you for considering Bournville College as the next step in your education. We welcome hundreds of new students every year, helping them learn new skills, discover a vocational career, raise their confidence, take part in work experience and external projects, or apply for jobs and university places. Our students leave Bournville College equipped with skills that will carry them through their future education and careers. Bournville College was first established in 1913 by George Cadbury as a school for the workers of his chocolate factory and in 2013 we celebrated our 100th anniversary in providing education. The college has changed a lot since 1913 but our core values remain. Today, we occupy a modern campus in Longbridge which was built in 2011. It is one of the most technologically advanced campuses in Europe where you will find the latest technology and equipment, free Wi-Fi, Starbucks coffee, gym, hair and beauty salons, laptops, iPads, Macs and PCs as well as industry-standard workshops designed for specific vocational careers. You will learn from our tutors who are industry experts and subject specialists so you can benefit from their knowledge and industry links. This brochure will give you further information about our facilities, courses, student activities and history, to guide you through the decision-making process involved in applying to us. We look forward to welcoming you to Bournville College.

Previously studied: VRQ Level 2 in Beauty Therapy / VRQ Level 3 in Beauty Therapy Progression: As a result of her qualification, Lianne secured a summer placement at Birmingham’s ‘The Cube and Spa’ in the Cube in The Mailbox which then turned into a full time position. “My future goal is to be trained in as many areas of beauty therapy as possible to fulfil my long term dream of managing and running my own ladies retreat business. Bournville College has amazing teaching methods by supportive tutors in a friendly and lively atmosphere.”

Owayne Smith Previously studied: BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business Progression: BA (Hons) Business & American Studies at University of Birmingham “My tutors were absolutely fantastic. They encouraged me to go further and give my best in everything I did. When I asked for help, they were always there for me. As my confidence grew, I became a student rep, representing fellow students at the College’s Student Council meetings which gave me additional experience and a sense of responsibility.”
