The 15TH Annual Mini-Conference ‘Suicide-care, responsibility’ A Trialogue Tuesday 10 October 2017 This year the mini-conference will explore what happens for families when intentions of care and support are taken over by intense worries about harm and responsibility. The conference will address questions such as: • What is the consequence of not involving family in circumstances where suicide is a concern? • What is it like for the person who is feeling suicidal to have family involvement? • How can families and professionals best work together to support a person who is contemplating suicide? In addition to invited speakers, the topic will be explored through the process of trialogue or three-way conversations, involving the voices and perspectives of consumers, family members and practitioners.
FEATURED SPEAKERS Glenn Melvin is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Services at Monash University and will be presenting on Suicide Safety Planning.
Kris Wood is part of the Suicide
Prevention team at Beyond Blue and will present on the Way Back Support Service for people who have attempted suicide.
