WELCOME Tena koutou, haere mai ki tenei wahi ataahua, ki a Otautahi
On behalf of Bowls New Zealand it gives me great pleasure to welcome to the beautiful city of Christchurch the young men and women competing in the Kittyhawk National Under 21 Men’s and Women’s Singles. This tournament has been a launching pad for many young bowlers who have continued their success onto the international stage and even into the national team, the Blackjacks. I am sure that you all will put in the effort demanded of a tournament such as this, and I wish you all every success. I know that your host for this tournament, Papanui Club Outdoor Bowls, has been looking forward to having you play at this club. Thank you to the club and members for your hospitality and for opening your facilities and greens to our young people and their supporters. The hosting of a national tournament places significant demands on any club’s members, volunteers, facilities, and greens, and the way in which Papanui has responded to these demands is much appreciated. Thank you also to the umpires, markers and other officials whose contribution is essential to the success of this tournament To our players, enjoy the tournament and the experience, enjoy the friendships you will make, and do come back again next year. Hei kona ra
Mike Spring, President
