Pubs with Heart

The AHA|SA and Pubs with Heart are proud and humbled to have been a major sponsor of the The Advertiser Foundation Ukraine Refugee Welcome Lunch on 10 May at the Arkaba Hotel.

Pubs with Heart donated $25,000 to the cause, to support the brave families that have fled devastation in their homeland to safety in South Australia.

The lunch was donated by the Arkaba Hotel, and owner Peter Hurley says he was “most enthusiastic about finding a small way to help people in this distressing time’’.

The Emergency SA Ukrainian appeal has raised almost $100,000 and 50 Ukrainian families who arrived with little more than a suitcase received a $2000 cash card to help them get established with basic needs in SA.

AHA|SA CEO Ian Horne said the industry was proud to be able to support this cause through Pubs with Heart.

SA hotels and hospitality are all about welcoming people and making them feel at home. We hope with this contribution that we are able to help these families, who have endured such unimaginable devastation, to feel welcome in South Australia.
