NE HUNDRED YEARS AGO, THE FIRST COMMUNITY foundation was established to help the people of Cleveland, Ohio, pool their charitable resources
and strengthen their hometown. Today there are more than 750 community foundations serving rural and urban areas across the country. We at the Bozeman Area Community Foundation are extremely proud to be rooted in that heritage, and to help donors give back to our community.
3. Find a Donor Lounge: Go to one of many Donor Lounges around our community, give online and get an incentive for giving! A win-win! Our goal is to engage residents across the county in giving to causes that matter most to them in 24 hours. 168 nonprofits are participating in our giving day, and all gifts will be amplified with additional funds from our Stretch Pool, which has been raised by the Community Foundation and generous local businesses. And, when making donations, you can also help the organizations you care about earn cash awards throughout the day to add to their total.

W H AT I S A DAY OF GIVING?
Give Big Gallatin Valley (GBGV) is a 24-hour online and live celebration of giving event that connects community members in the Gallatin Valley with local nonprofits to reinforce the value of giving! This year, Gallatin Valley will host its third GBGV Day of Giving. Here are some common questions and answers about this event that will leave you in a spirit ready to give big to Gallatin Valley nonprofits!
WHAT IS GIVE BIG? Give Big simplifies your giving and amplifies your impact! GBGV provides nonprofits the opportunity not only to gain public exposure but also to gain monetary support from donors and from the Stretch Pool of funds. As a community member, you have the chance to find and support an organization(s) whose mission aligns with your passions. On May 4 and 5 from 6pm-6pm, people in Gallatin County will come together with a goal to raise $500,000 for 168 local nonprofits in 24 hours!
WHEN IS THE EVENT? GBGV is on May 4 and 5 from 6pm-6pm! The event kicks off of at Map Brewing Company from 5:30-8pm on Thursday, May 4, and wraps up with a celebration on Main St. in Bozeman from 4-6pm on Friday, May 5!
WHERE IS THE EVENT? GBGV is an online event. However, on May 4 and 5, there will be live Donor Lounges throughout the county from Bozeman to Belgrade, Big Sky to Three Forks. Businesses are giving away free items at Donor Lounges to encourage community members to give at their Lounge. See Page 19 for the schedule and locations of the live Donor Lounges.
HOW CAN I GIVE ON MAY 4 AND 5? 1. Give online: Go to www.givebiggv.org, find a cause you care about and give big! 2. Give a gift of a check:Â Go to our Check Donation Station from 10am-4pm at the Main St. Branch of First Interstate Bank (202 W. Main St.) in Bozeman or at the Belgrade First Interstate Bank branch (98 N. Broadway). You can even get your picture taken with a big check! 3. Donor Lounges: Go to one of many Donor Lounges around our community, give online and get a free incentive for giving! A win-win!
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? Anyone and everyone. The minimum donation is $5.
WHAT IS THE STRETCH POOL? Donations made during GBGV will go farther through a Stretch Pool of funds. The Pool will be distributed to participating nonprofits based on donations received. It is not a dollar for dollar match. If an organization raises 10 percent of the overall funds on GBGV Day, it will receive 10 percent of the Stretch Pool funds.
WHY SHOULD I GIVE ON MAY 4-5? GBGV is a special event that encourages a communitywide celebration of giving. Plus, when you give on May 4 and 5, your gift will go farther with the Stretch Pool.
