n 2015, the Bozeman Area Community Foundation hosted the first Give Big initiative with the modest goal of raising $100,000 for 100 nonprofits in 24-hours for our community. In just one day, our community rallied together with generosity and more than doubled that initial goal by raising $237,000. In four short years, our community has raised over $2,643,500 through over 15,000 gifts during Give Big for over 194 local nonprofits. Amazing!

Since 2015, our initiative has grown into a county-wide celebration of giving. We are proud to highlight nonprofits from Bozeman to Three Forks and Belgrade to Big Sky. While there has been tremendous growth in dollars raised and donors inspired, the goal of Give Big has stayed the same - inspire our neighbors to come together, show their pride in their communities, and contribute to support the life-changing work of local nonprofit organizations in Gallatin County. On May 2nd and 3rd from 6pm-6pm, the Bozeman Area Community Foundation will host our fifth annual Give Big initiative. This year, we have biggest goal yet: to raise $1,500,000 for over 190 local nonprofits through 5,000 donors in 24-hours. Can we do it together?

secured matching funds to help your gift go farther on Give Big day!

WHERE CAN I GIVE? Give Big is an online and live event. To inspire a culture of generosity in our community during Give Big, many local businesses are opening their doors to host official Donor Lounges hosted by nonprofits to help make your giving easy and fun! These will be locations where you can go and give to your favorite nonprofit. Plus, these generous businesses will give you free incentives just by giving at their Donor Lounge. For a full list of Official Donor Lounges, check out our schedule at www.GiveBigGV.org/info/donor-lounges. Give Big will start with our Launch Party on Thursday, May 2nd from 4pm-7pm in Big Sky located at Lone Peak Cinema (50 Ousel Falls Road, Big Sky). The initiative will wrap up with a Finale Celebration on Friday, May 3rd from 4:30pm6:30pm at the Rialto (10 W. Main St. Bozeman) to thank all participating donors and nonprofits. There will be treats, free champagne for the first 50 attendees with proof of donation, a cash bar and live music by Paige and the Peoples Band! Both events are family friendly, free and open to all community members! People often think that philanthropy is for the Bill Gates and Warren Buffets of the world. The truth is, everyone can be a philanthropist. No gift is too small. And, the beauty of Give Big is that together, our gifts will combine for a big

Our vision for Give Big is simple – inspire neighbors to come together, show their pride in their community, and contribute to support the life-changing work of local nonprofit organizations! Our goal is to engage residents across the county in giving to causes that matter most to them in 24-hours. Secondly, we help community members give more effectively to the causes that matter most to them. We provide one-on-one services to donors by sharing local knowledge and expertise regarding area nonprofits working in different sectors. Additionally,

we manage donor advised funds for individual donors and establish and manage endowments for organizations that don’t have the capacity to do that on their own.

Foundation has been caring for and strengthening our village in three ways:

3 To join us in strengthening our village, please go to www.bozemanfoundation.org or give us a call at 406-587-6262. We hope you will join us in our effort to connect people who care to causes that matter to build a stronger community on May 2nd and 3rd! Give local. Give Big!

First, we help nonprofits grow, connect and collaborate. Since its inception, BACF has administered a grants program and distributed more than $2.6 million in support to nonprofit organizations across all sectors in Gallatin County. In addition, we help nonprofits thrive by providing capacity building opportunities that promote collaboration and learning such as our free monthly Nonprofit CafĂŠ that hosts on average 40 nonprofit leaders monthly to learn about topics such as social media, event planning, and working effectively with your board of directors.

Lastly, we are locally facilitating a culture of generosity by providing educational and community engagement opportunities. On May 2nd and 3rd, we will be hosting the fifth 24-hour giving day called Give Big Gallatin Valley to promote giving to local nonprofits and highlight the overall value of the nonprofit sector to the health and well-being of our community. We also teach Gallatin County youth about the local nonprofit sector and philanthropy through our Youth Giving Project!

W H AT I S A DAY OF GIVING?

WHAT IS A DAY OF GIVING?

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

Give Big Gallatin Valley is a 24-hour online and live celebration of giving event that connects community members throughout Gallatin County with local nonprofits to celebrate the value of giving! This year, the Bozeman Area Community Foundation will host its fifth Give Big initiative. Here are some common questions and answers about this event that will leave you in a spirit ready to give big to Gallatin County nonprofits!

Anyone and everyone. The minimum donation is $5! If everyone in Gallatin County gave just $15, we would reach our goal to raise $1,500,000!

WHAT IS GIVE BIG GALLATIN VALLEY? Give Big simplifies your giving and amplifies your impact! Give Big provides nonprofits the opportunity to not only gain public exposure but also to gain financial support from donors. As a community member, you have the chance to find and support an organization(s) whose mission aligns with your passions. On May 2nd and 3rd from 6pm – 6pm, people in the Gallatin County will come together with a goal to raise $1,500,000 for over 190 local nonprofits in 24-hours! If every community member gave just $15 to a cause they cared about, we would reach our goal!

WHEN IS THE EVENT? Give Big will be hosted on Thursday, May 2nd - Friday, May 3rd from 6pm 6pm. The giving fun will start with a Launch Party on Thursday, May 2nd from 4pm-7pm in Big Sky located at Lone Peak Cinema (50 Ousel Falls Road, Big Sky). The initiative will wrap up with a Grand Finale Celebration on Friday, May 3rd from 4:30pm-6:30pm at the Rialto (10 W. Main St. Bozeman) to thank all participating donors and nonprofits. Both events are family friendly, free and open to all community members! For more information about the Kickoff Party and Grand Finale Celebration, check out the Bozeman Area Community Foundation’s Facebook page.

WHERE IS THE EVENT? Give Big is an online event. However, on May 2nd - 3rd, there will be live Donor Lounges throughout the county from Bozeman to Belgrade, Big Sky to Three Forks. Businesses are giving away free items at Donor Lounges to encourage community members to give at their lounge. See Page 17 for the schedule. Donor Lounge locations are listed on pages 6 to 15 with the participating nonprofit.

HOW CAN I GIVE ON MAY 2 ND & MAY 3 RD ? 1. Give online: Go to www.givebiggv.org and find a cause you care about and give big! 2. Give a gift of check: You can write a check directly to the nonprofit you would like to support and give it directly to that nonprofit or you can give to multiple organizations via one check at our Check Donation Station. Our Check Donation Station will be open on Friday, May 3rd from 9am - 4pm at the Main St. branch of First Interstate Bank (202 W. Main St.) in Bozeman. You can even get your picture taken with a big check! 3. Donor Lounges: Go to one of many Donor Lounges around our community, give online and get a free incentive for giving! A win-win!

HOW DO THE PRIZES WORK? Online donations made during Give Big may help your favorite organization win prizes! For some prizes, donors are selected for giving at a certain time. For example, the 2019th donor on Give Big Day will have $500 dollars added to their gift. Other prizes are awarded to the organization receiving the most gifts during a certain time period. Visit https://www.givebiggv.org/prizes for the full list of prizes your organization can win!

WHY SHOULD I GIVE BIG? Give Big is a special event that encourages a community-wide celebration of giving. Plus, when you give during Give Big, your gift can help your favorite nonprofit win prizes! Your gift may also help nonprofits qualify for matching gifts they’ve secured to bolster their fundraising efforts through Give Big. If every person in Gallatin County gave just $15 to support a cause they cared about, we would reach our goal to raise $1,500,000!

ARE GIFTS TAX-DEDUCTIBLE? All donations are tax-deductible and irrevocable and will be for the unrestricted use of your chosen charity.

WHO CREATED GIVE BIG? The Bozeman Area Community Foundation organized this event. To find out more about the Foundation, see page 4.

WHAT IF I CAN’T FIND MY FAVORITE NONPROFIT ON THE WEBSITE? That means they aren’t participating in Give Big. After Give Big 2019, encourage the nonprofit to contact us (info@bozemanfoundation.org) so it can register for the May 2020 event! In order to participate, the organization must be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit located in and serving Gallatin County.

HOW MUCH OF MY DONATION GOES TO THE NONPROFIT? All donations will be paid to the chosen charity. Of your donation, only 4.2% + $0.30 will be retained by the credit card companies and GiveGab. Gifts of check made directly to the nonprofit or at the Check Donation Station in Bozeman will not incur a fee. The Bozeman Area Community Foundation will not receive any portion of the donations or transaction fees.

Supportt our vision of a Montana wher where people and nature thrive Many older adults no longer feel the dirt in their hands & have reluctantly given up on their once favorite pastime because they have had to relocate to smaller or more easily manageable living spaces. Many who live in their own home, find it very difficult to garden in-ground, therefore discontinuing their gardening. We reconnect these seniors to their gardening roots by providing horticultural therapy-based services, raised/accessible gardens, garden-side assistance & check-ins, classes, presentations, and annual maintenance throughout the growing seasons.
