01 AYANA RIMBA RESORT Resort and Hospitality Professional Work August 2012- November 2013
Bali, Indonesia
The four star resort hotel is part of the mixed use development at Ayana
11
Resort and Spa in Bali, Indonesia. The resort will include 5 five-story hotel buildings, a hotel lobby with all day dinning, meeting rooms, ball rooms, wedding pavilion, herb garden and five feature pools with a children’s water play area. The use of level changes throughout the project has helped to create spectacular views from different locations. The contemporary modern style combined with subtle glimpse of traditional Balinese style in landscape elements and features has formulated a strong sense of place and a unique identity for the project. The resort is scheduled to open in November 2013.

AYANA RIMBA RESORT
One of the elements that I specifically worked on was the design of the secondary entrance. As a gateway to people going to the ball rooms and meeting rooms, the entrance needed to be subtle and not overcasting the lobby entrance. The design intents were to create a series of stepped canopies and a feature wall to introduce various senses of depth and verticality. Five different design schemes were produced with one was more further developed and detailed.

Heathrow Gate will be a three-star hotel converted from a previous office
building that was built in the 1970s. The landscape design intends to blend with the contemporary, linear facade of the architecture but introducing traditional English garden principles. The old ramp and elevated parking area were preserved to minimize construction. A bus drop off is located on the ground floor with the major entrance on the first floor. Several garden spaces are designed to create viewsheds from within the building as well as providing neccessary open space for hotel residents and stuff. 07 RESIDENTIAL STUDY Residential Professional Work June 2012
Tai Chuung, China
Tai Chung is a fast growing city about an hour away from Shanghai, China. The
residential project is the second phase of the development. The project is divided into two areas: medium residential apartments and high density residential towers. The design objectives are to create a vibrant community by introducing landscaped areas of different scales and sizes. A central park was introduced to the residential tower area to provide functional areas but also to inject dynamic spaces for the towers. A landscape spine was designed to create green connection for the residents who live in the apartments. The green spine eventually connects with the waterfront park which is also acted as a flood plain. Design ideas were generated for the public areas to create a flexible and adaptive space that will change over time depending on the composition of the surrounding areas.
New Delhi,India
I was given a task to develop brief landscape design strategies for a residential project in New
Delhi, India. My overall design approach was to create a connected space that can be broken into smaller “courtyards” to better serve the more specific building typologies. A careful study of spaital typology and arrangment was produced to better understand the hierachy of spaces throughout the project.
space
A hierachy of spaces was developed to understand how spaces should be designed and distributed within the project. Each space serves different functions and uses hence different types of activities (both active and passive). The typolgies are important to help creating an overall landscape framework (The Spline). The framework becomes the spine as well as the connecting element for different spaces in social, ecological and circulation perspectives.

he urban design study looked at the waterfront area between Macau Cultural Center and Gate of Understanding. The overall study objective was to recommend design strategies that will develop the waterfront area into a vibrant, diverse area that caters the needs for different user groups. Existing site conditions present numerous opportunities for a lively promenade to reconcile different parts of the waterfront area. Pedestrian connection to existing historic neighborhood was another focus to ensure accessibility to the waterfront was shared with local residents.
