T Levels are designed for students who are moving on from their GCSE studies to develop skills in an industry sector that they want to pursue or for further study. There are specific entry requirements students must achieve to study a T Level.
T Levels are for 16-18 year olds. Additionally, students up to 24 who have an Education, Health and Care Plan (ECHP) can also study T Levels. They’re different to the traditional route of A Levels as they focus on the skill acquisition required to move directly into industry.
Courses consist of 80% of time in the classroom, 20% on a work placement in a relevant workplace.
This differs from an apprenticeship where 80% of time is spent with an employer and 20% in the classroom and is more suited to those ready to enter the workplace at 16 while learning at the same time.
T Levels have been developed in collaboration with employers, combining practical, theory and classroom learning.
Courses focus on vocational skills and help students into skilled employment, higher education or apprenticeships.
We offer a range of T Levels, giving our students unparalleled choice and opportunities to engage with key employers:

T Levels - Skills for Life
Employers have reported that many young people leave education without the basic employability skills that are needed to join the workplace. These include skills such as time-keeping, team work and the ability to work confidently with people.
This qualification allows employers to develop these skills and sector specific capabilities for students, while having the opportunity to assess their skill set.

Entry Requirements
Typically, 5 GCSEs or International GCSEs at Grade 4 (formerly Grade C) or above, including English and Maths or Science (in some cases) and/or Vocational Tech Award qualification(s) at Level 2 at Pass and above in a relevant subject are required. This is course-specific, check the particular course; some entry requirements are less than this.
Not everyone leaves school with the qualifications required to study a full T Level straight away. We offer several T Level Foundation Year programmes of study to help prepare students to continue their studies with us.
Are T Levels right for me?
If you are moving on from your GCSE studies and want to develop your skills to obtain a qualification that is linked directly to a future career, then a T Level might be for you.
You’ll also benefit from studying one subject that directly interests you in depth, rather than studying multiple A Levels in different subjects.
T Levels are ideal if you enjoy a practical approach to your studies thanks to the 45 day industry placement.
Will universities accept students that have a T Level?
Yes. T Levels provide the perfect basis to jump straight into a career, university or higher apprenticeship.
