he soothing sound of acoustic guitar fills the air while delicious smells waft by from nearby food trucks. Families gather under the expansive open-air pavilion perusing wares from local farmers, craftsmen, and artists while a yoga class begins on the neighboring green. The once quiet entrance to the Watersound Origins community has come alive with the newly founded Watersound Town Center Farmers Market, held weekly on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm. Presented by 30A Entertainment & Events LLC, South Walton’s newest farmers market has become a gathering place for not only residents of the Watersound Origins community but locals and visitors alike. The market’s convenient location just off Highway 98 and ample parking availability has made it an easy and exciting Saturday activity for families from Panama City Beach to Destin. “The scale and location of the Watersound Town Center Farmers Market has allowed us to offer additional features such as hot food options, food trucks, live entertainment, and an expansion of vendors into arts, crafts, apparel, and more,” explains Diane Kolopanas, owner of 30A Farmers Market LLC and producer of the event. “A Saturday morning at the Watersound Market truly allows you to experience the unique culture of our area and support our local community while enjoying time with your friends and family in a beautiful setting.” Vendors vary weekly but guests of the market can expect to find offerings of local produce, meat, fresh seafood, eggs, and dairy in addition to artisan breads and pastries. Enjoy locally roasted coffee or cold pressed organic juices while sampling local honey or freshly made jams. Artists proudly display handcrafted

jewelry, paintings and prints of coastal landmarks, originally designed clothing, pottery, and much more. In addition to the Saturday markets, the Watersound Town Center Farmers Market will soon add a Wednesday market during the Spring Break and Summer seasons, with plans to keep the additional dates during active tourist seasons throughout the year. Holiday themed events will be offered with additional themed attractions and activities for kids such as face painting and special guests. The market is a sign of things to come for the quickly growing Watersound Origins community, and a first phase of the new town center that is now underway at the community entrance. An Ascension Sacred Heart Healthcare facility is already open and a Publix Super Market underway. Plans call for 200,000 square feet of retail and office space to include restaurants, retail, and more creating a lively destination for both homeowners and area residents.
