Symphony Suite Sewing Instructions 1. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 10 ½” Fabric B strip to each side of (1) 8 ½” x 10 ½” Fabric A strip. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 10 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric A strip to make B A-block (Fig. 1). Repeat to make (5) A-blocks total.

4. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 10 ½” Fabric I strip to each side of (1) 8 ½” x 10 ½” Fabric H strip. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 10 ½” Fabric I strip to the top and to the bottom of the Fabric H strip to make H-block (Fig. 4). Repeat to make (4) H-blocks total.

3. Use a ruler to trim (1) CAB block as shown in Fig. 3 to make (1) Block One. The block should measure 12 ½” x 15 ½”. Repeat to make (5) Block Ones total. Use a ruler to mark and trim the block with the angle towards the right to make (5) 12 ½” x 15 ½” Block Ones

Sew the (4) sashing strips and (3) rows, in numerical order, together, alternating them, to make the quilt top. 13. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 57 ½” Fabric F strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 50 ½” Fabric B strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top. 14. Sew (1) 4 ½” x 59 ½” Fabric G strip to each side of the quilt top. Sewing Instructions 1. Following the manufacturer’s instructions, trace the listed number of each template onto the paper side of the fusible web. Roughly cut out each template about ⅛” outside the drawn lines.

6. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 32 ½” Fabric D strip to each side of the Center Block. Sew (1) 2 ½” x 28 ½” Fabric D strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Block (Fig. 3). Trim the block to measure 30 ½” square (Fig. 4) to complete the Center Square.

2. Press each template onto the wrong side of the fabrics as listed on the templates. Cut out each template on the drawn lines. 3. Refer to the quilt photo to arrange and press the (4) clefs onto the (4) 10 ½” Fabric B squares with the square turned at a 45-degree angle (Fig. 1).

5. Sew the (4) Clef Blocks, the (1) 10 ½” Fabric A square, the (4) Fabric C corner triangles and the (4) Fabric C side triangles together to make the Center Block (Fig. 2). C

Quilt Top Assembly (Refer to the Quilt Layout while assembling.) 7. Sew (3) 5 ½” Fabric F squares and (3) 5 ½” Fabric E squares together, alternating them, to make (1) strip. Repeat to make a second strip. Sew (1) strip to each side of the Center Square. Note: Pay attention to the orientation of the strips. Repeat for top and bottom borders.

10. Starting at the sewn seam (represented by the arrow in Figure 5), draw a 45-degree line to the edge of the fabric. Sew on the drawn line. Trim the excess fabric leaving a ¼” seam. Repeat this step with the remaining corners to make the quilt top. Fig. 5

8. Center (1) 3 ½” x 50” Fabric G strip on (1) side of the Center Square and pin in place. Start sewing the strip a ¼” from the top edge of the Center Square and stop a ¼” from the bottom edge. DO NOT TRIM THE EXCESS. Repeat with the opposite side.

11. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 46 ½” Fabric D strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 1 ½” x 48 ½” Fabric D strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top. 12. Sew (1) 3 ½” x 48 ½” Fabric C strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew (1) 3 ½” x 54 ½” Fabric C strip to the top and to the bottom of the quilt top.

9. Repeat Step 8 to sew (1) 3 ½” x 50” Fabric G strip to the top and to the bottom of the Center Square, making sure to stop and start ¼” away from each end of the square. To miter 13.
