LETTER FROM THE

I hope all of you had a wonderful month last month, watching fireworks, getting a glorious tan and most importantly serving your community! Last month’s DCM was a fun one, eating pizza and getting to know you guys better. I love seeing your beautiful faces! Good job on keeping up on having fun in the summer but also serving your communities I am proud of you guys. Also, don’t forget to contact me if you or your club has any questions, concerns or you just want to talk! I hope that the service is just as strong this month as it has always been!

ELIMINATE

THE

60 MILLION

Dollars has been raised as of June 2014. That is two million more than last month and forty-seven million shy of our goal of one hundred million dollars. So keep up the good work and know there is still more to be done!

Countries that have recently validated the elimination of MNT include Turkey, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. MNT still remains a deadly threat in 25 countries.

WHAT IS THE

ELIMINATE

With the Eliminate Project, Kiwanis International and UNICEF have joined forces to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus. This deadly disease steals the lives of nearly 60,000 innocent babies and a significant number of women each year. The effects of the disease are excruciating – tiny newborns suffer repeated painful convulsions and extreme sensitivity to light and touch.

For the August DCM, I have planned a get together at Casavas! Just another fun day for coffee and bubble tea. This is a fantastic opportunity to get to know your division better and also to get to know other Key Clubbers in our division. This DCM will be held on Thursday August 14th at 2 P.M at Casavas, 1333 Broadway in Longview, WA. Please let me know if you will not be able to attend this DCM. I hope to see all of you there!
