Divisional Update OurOrcas! DivisionSois Icalled Division Hey have some 42; it is broken up into two different bad news for you, I gave you the parts. information We were formerly Division 42 WA wrong last month. Our and our sister names are notDivision 42 East was and Division West. I 42 OR. Butwe weare changed clubs repeat not Eastsome and West. around so now both divisions have some clubs in eachnames state. The Our actual are, official names 42 areCoastal still yet and to beValley. decided Division Webut we 42 areValley. leaning towards something are East and West were alike 42 East West. little too and vague and a little too juvenile for us. Here are some fun facts about our Divisio LAST MONTH’S DCM The April DCM was held on Friday, April 25th. It was held at a Frozen Yogurt shop in Longview, Washington, called Sweetspot. The picture above is some of the people who stayed after the DCM was over. At the DCM played some icebreakers, and shared so embarrassing stories; that involved surgery dog poop, bunny suits and hit and runs. We also got to know each club on a personal level and see how each club runs compared to one another. It was great you won’t want to miss the May DCM. It might just be even crazier than the April DCM.
Orca Point Update! Let’s see how each club is doing on their Orca points. 1st R.A.Long – 5 Orca Points 2nd Kelso – 3 Orca Points 2nd Three Rivers Christian – 3 Orca Points 3rd Toutle – 2 Orca Points 4th CCEC – 1 Orca Point 5th St. Helens – 1Orca Point Turn in monthly reports on time, attend DCMs, and more to get your club some Orca Points!
Don’t forget the club with the most Orca points will have a Pizza/Cookie party! And yes, the cookies will be Emma cookies.

WHAT’S NEW?
UNICEF & MNT
Since 1999, UNICEF and its partners have immunized nearly 100 million women in 50 countries with two or more doses of the vaccine and have eliminated the disease in 34 countries.
STILL MORE TO DO
Countries that have recently validated the elimination of MNT include Turkey, Burundi, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. MNT still remains a deadly threat in 25 countries.
PROGRESS
$51Million Have been raise for the Eliminate Project that is a little more than half of our goal of 100 million
With the Eliminate Project, Kiwanis International and UNICEF have joined forces to eliminate maternal and neonatal tetanus. This deadly disease steals the lives of nearly 60,000 innocent babies and a significant number of women each year. The effects of the disease are excruciating – tiny newborns suffer repeated painful convulsions and extreme sensitivity to light and touch. To eliminate MNT from the Earth, more than 100 million mothers and their future babies must be immunized. This requires vaccines, syringes, safe storage, transportation, thousands of skilled staff and more. It will take US$110 – and the dedicated work of UNICEF and every member of the Kiwanis family. Kiwanis and UNICEF joined forces to tackle iodine deficiency
disorders, achieving one of the most significant public health successes of the 20th century. Now, they are eliminating MNT from the face of the Earth. And in doing so, the project will reach the poorest, most neglected mothers and babies with additional lifesaving health care. The end of this one disease means the beginning of better health for so many families.
