Are you looking for a large university that offers hundreds of academic programs and a wealth of activities, located in a vibrant city with a diverse population? Then Bradley University is the ideal place for you. Or maybe you see yourself at a school where classes are small, people are friendly, the campus is easy to get around and professors know your name. Then Bradley is the ideal place for you, too.

When you choose Bradley University, you don’t have to decide between the activities and resources of a larger university and the personal attention and exceptional learning experiences of a smaller college. Our size — nearly 6,000 students — gives you the best of both worlds. We don’t just offer these experiences, we guarantee them. Every student will graduate with at least two, and probably more, mentored real-world experiences documented on their transcript. To gain this experience, we leverage relationships with top organizations and industries to provide unlimited hands-on learning opportunities. This guarantee makes Bradley the ideal choice to prepare you for immediate and substantial success — in your career and in life.

In today’s competitive marketplace, the difference between landing and not landing a job is more than the education you receive or the GPA you earn. It’s the experience you bring to the table. How do you acquire that experience when you’re busy being a full-time student? By participating in hundreds of opportunities to put your new knowledge and skills to work in the real world. At Bradley, those experiences come in a variety of ways — in the classroom and the labs, in the community, through internships and study abroad opportunities. Many of these opportunities are crossdisciplinary, allowing students to work or study in areas they may never have considered, to better understand the majors they’ve chosen, or to combine internships to bring truly unique experiences to the job market.

Leadership development is a core value of the University and is a hallmark of the Bradley Experience. We believe that leadership is essential to the future careers of our students and the communities where they will choose to live.

DOING REAL WORK

Bradley prides itself on having a student body of “doers” rather than observers.

The students provided fully functioning websites for the organization and the theater, easing online ticketing processes and creating user-friendly mobile experiences.

How will you know if the major you’ve chosen is the right one? By putting it into practice. How will you gain the experience you need to land a job? By putting your skills to the test.

[ \rē( )l\ adj.—  Actually existing as a thing or occurring in fact; not imagined or supposed. ]

At Bradley, you won’t wait until you graduate to join the real world. You’ll be doing it from the moment you arrive on campus. You’ll quickly become immersed in your major course work, and you’ll be doing real work — in the classroom, in the lab, through internships and study abroad opportunities. Every student will graduate with at least two mentored real-world experiences such as an internship, co-op, undergraduate research or study abroad documented on their transcript.

Bradley students have re-engineered the assembly process for F-15 aircraft, created an image generator for the simulation of arthroscopic surgery and redesigned animatronic parts for an Orlando-based theme park. Industry projects, design competitions, internships, co-op positions and project-based research provide real-world skills sought by employers. Most engineering schools teach about engineering; Bradley teaches students the practice of engineering. Not only will you gain the knowledge and skills you need in your engineering toolbox, you will also acquire significant design experience throughout your time at Bradley. This experience culminates in the engineering capstone projects — high-level, real-world, engineering design projects that are often sponsored by companies and government agencies. These unparalleled experiences prepare Bradley graduates to enter the job market ready to work as professionals.

KEEPING THINGS PERSONAL

Bradley’s engineering college is sized with you in mind. Engineering programs are inherently very demanding in content as well as pace, and we recognize that a close faculty-student relationship and individual support are very important to student success. You will be taught in small groups, not with 100 other students in a lecture hall. Our faculty, not graduate students, teach, advise and mentor all undergraduates. They know your name and are available to consult on projects and answer your questions. Our goal is to ensure the success of every engineering student. LEARNING FROM THE BEST

Our engineering faculty members choose to teach at Bradley because that’s what they want to do — teach. Faculty will work side-by-side with you in classrooms, in labs and on real-world projects. They will advise, mentor and guide you both inside and outside the classroom. UNDERSTANDING THE ENGINEERING CAREER

The engineering process is complex and practitioners perform many roles. Bradley graduates have been involved in all of them: research, design, development, product application, manufacturing and system integration, as well as marketing, sales and management. An important mission of the Caterpillar College of Engineering and Technology is to continue to educate the next generation of professionals to meet the challenges of the future. bradley.edu/cegt

COLLEGE OF LIBERAL ARTS AND SCIENCES The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS) is the largest and most diverse in the university, allowing you to select from a broad variety of undergraduate majors and programs of study. These resources and the academic variety of Bradley’s five colleges lead many of our students to double- or even triple-major. Some of our undergraduates create their own majors through the Interdisciplinary Major Program. Other students benefit from our graduate education, which includes a number of five-year bachelor’s and master’s degree combination programs. We believe these options will make you a more appealing candidate to future employers. Our world-class faculty and dedicated staff will deliver a personalized academic experience, empowering you to be a capable, imaginative, and compassionate individual who embraces the challenges of the modern world.
