 On spending and taxes, our city leaders must recognize that the current decline in tax and fee revenue will impact our Town budget and threaten services. We must take action now to avoid using up our financial reserves.  To protect and expand our tax base, our elected officials must lead a concerted and high profile effort to immediately seek business relocations and expansions to fill the empty offices and shops.  To create greater transparency, our leaders should make it easier for citizens to see what the Town government is doing and how the Town is spending our tax dollars.
