Bushings:

Bushings are the part of the skateboard that could be compared to the

bed you sleep in. Too hard or too soft, it is very uncomfortable. When it is just right, you are in the sweet spot! Bushings not only allow the skateboard trucks to do what they are designed to do, they allow the rider the ability to custom-tune the performance characteristics of any given setup.

RipTide bushings are hand -made out of thermosetting polyurethane, and

are offered in a variety of shapes and durometers (hardness) for both traditional and reverse kingpin trucks. This allows any rider to dial in virtually any setup for any discipline. RipTide offers three primary urethane compounds:

WFB / APS compounds are often used in combination. The most common combination is WFB boardside for the deep lean and APS roadside for a more snappy return. This is skateboarding, there are no rules here. Find your own favorite combination so you can help others.

KranK Bushing Series Compound: KranKâ&#x201E;˘: Performance Under Pressure Our highest rebound formula to date, KranK is designed specifically to change under pressure and is controlled by the amount of clamp pressure you subject it to when tightening the King Pin nut! The effective range of control is from barely snug for the loosest feel to 2 full turns for the tightest feel. KranK will turn the same or less than the same durometer of other brands which is also a departure from APS and WFB. As for washers, flat washers work great with this compound, but for the greatest control and range of this performance feature, use cupped, precision flat or precision cupped washers.

RipTide Longboard Bushing Shapes: Cone: Offering the least amount of resistance in the lineup, the Cone is great for slalom, LDP, carving, and any discipline where low resistance is desired.

Barrel: The straight-walled shape of the Barrel offers a stable platform and high rebound, making the Barrels a great all-purpose choice for higher speed freeriding as well as faster downhill purposes.

FatCone: A great middle ground of stability between the Chubby and Barrel. The shape provides great carving ability but also stability at higher speeds. The unique shape has the initial stability of a Barrel then exhibits progressively higher resistance the further it is compressed. The FatCone can be used in virtually any truck that the Barrel fits in. Supplied with washers.

Chubby: The hallmark of this shape is its stability â&#x20AC;&#x201C; provides an extremely stable platform boardside. Linear resistance to lean but still very supple. The bulky shape of the appropriately named Chubby offers a very stable platform and less movement than the Barrels. Works well with restrictive as well as non-restrictive bushings seats. Supplied with washers.

Truck Specific Series: Tall Series: Designed specifically for Bennett ® and Ronin ® trucks, or any truck that requires a .75” tall bushing. Provided in the same shapes as above.

Paris® Series: Designed originally for Paris® Trucks (V1 and V2), the Canon & Magnum Bushings fit the bushing seat perfectly, thus eliminating all ‘slop’ & allowing them to perform at their highest level. (The Paris® Series also fits well in other trucks, so please reference the Truck Application Chart.)

Cube Bushings Series: RipTide Cubeâ&#x201E;˘. With these new bushings, the rider has four different levels of resistance with one bushing shape based on their orientation and placement. Square orientation is linear, while diamond orientation is progressive. They can be oriented as follows; Roadside / Boardside: Square / Square Diamond / Square Square / Diamond Diamond / Diamond

If you set up the front differently than the rear, the number of

combinations increases substantially. When you throw round bushings and various durometers and compounds into the mix (the Cubed seat in REY and Elrod trucks, fits all other RipTide shapes also), the numbers get a bit crazy! Â

In summary, using one bushing shape in one durometer, you can

configure 16 unique setups (4 symmetrical and 12 asymmetrical)! I can't think of any other bushing that you can do that with.

Street Series:

RipTide Street Series: RipTide Street Series for traditional trucks. These

are offered in APS in four durometers - Super Soft 85a, soft 90a, medium 95a, and hard 97.5a - and seven shapes - two roadside and five boardside. Also available in Krank in two durometers - Medium 93a and Soft 87a.

Pivot cups are one of the most overlooked parts of a longboard truck,

but a pivot cup can greatly affect the performance of your trucks and ride. Having a pivot cup or tube that fits well and is of high quality can make a world of difference in your ride. All RipTide Pivot Cups and Tubes are made with our internally-lubricated WFB formula and are a 96a durometer.
