Extracurricular activities:

Volleyball, basketball, track, cross-country, concert band, pep band, choir, student council, National Honor Society, STRIVE Rotary, prom committee, church choir, community volunteer.

Hobbies: Cooking, baking, sports, spending time at the lake, hobby farming, gardening, singing, photography, being outside.

Future plans: Attend Central Lakes College for graphic design, hoping to study in the fields of photography, small business entrepreneurship and hospitality.

Part-time work: Cleaning cabins at Minne Teepee Resort in Hackensack, and hoping to get a summer internship in the hospitality industry at a local resort.

Memorable high school moment: “I have so many memorable high school moments, but the most special moments are playing sports, achieving school records in track and volleyball, and earning two trips to the state volleyball tournament. It’s an incredible feeling giving and receiving support cheering and dressing up for themes for all the sports events I played in and was able to watch. We have an incredibly supportive sports community!”

Brianna Hanneken

Parents: Chris and Tina Hanneken. Extracurricular activities: Volleyball, basketball, rodeo, cross-country, student council, National Honor Society, concert band, jazz band, pepe band, Minnesota State High School League Student Advisory Leadership Team, Miss Pine River’s First Princess, community volunteering. Hobbies: Church choir, reading, being outside, sports, watching movies, spending time with friends and family.

Future plans: Attend St. Mary’s University of Minnesota to get a registered nursing degree and play volleyball.

Part-time work: Babysitting, and this summer will be working as a CNA and a cabin cleaner on weekends.

Memorable high school moment: “Going to state in volleyball for the second year in a row my senior year.”

Sydney Hoopman

Parents: Gabriel and Misty Hoopman. Extracurricular activities: Dance, National Honor Society, student council, prom committee, concert band, jazz band, varsity volleyball team manager. Hobbies: Dance, hunting, fishing, writing, being outdoors with friends and family. Future plans:

Attend a four-year university to get a bachelor’s degree in pre-medical imaging, then become a diagnostic sonographer working with soon-to-be mothers and helping them through their pregnancies. Eventually become a traveling sonographer to see the world through work.

Part-time work: Assistant dance coach for the Walker Just for Kix company. Memorable high school moment: “Senior Homecoming Skit/ Homecoming Week.”

Ashley Shamp

Parents: Matthew and Kyann Shamp. Extracurricular activities:

Volleyball, softball, Miss Pine River, National Honor Society, student council, STRIVE, prom committee, band, jazz band, pep band, church, youth group.

Hobbies: Spending time with friends and family, going to the lake, sports, being with my dogs. Future plans: Attend Bethany Lutheran College to double major in special and elementary education.

Part-time work: Waitress at Pine Peaks Restaurant in Crosslake. Memorable high school moment: “French class every day and going on the cruise for our band trip.”
