CITY OF LIGHTS
Experience the magic of the holidays in Nisswa! The Christmas season kicks off on Friday, November 28 with the 44th annual Nisswa City of Lights celebration.
Transport yourself into a holiday movie scene while you take in the sights and sounds of downtown Nisswa. There are hundreds of thousands of beautiful Christmas lights strung throughout town on storefronts, trees, the gazebo, and beyond. Bonfires are lit along the Paul Bunyan Trail to keep you warm, while train rides take you around town to enjoy the sights. Santa is ready to hear your wishes and his live reindeer are ready to meet you!
Listen to a reading of “The Polar Express”, enjoy hot cocoa, take in a live nativity scene and experience carolers throughout town. Cross items off your Christmas list as you shop our abundance of stores downtown.
The crown jewel of the night is a fireworks show at 7pm. There truly is not a bad place to view the show downtown! Turn your eyes to the sky as the dazzling colors explode against the darkness over a blanket of fresh snow. Cold weather fireworks are a must-see!
The Niswa City of Lights celebration is always held the day after Thanksgiving.
