RUTTGER’S BAY LAKE RESORT
Joseph Ruttger began a century-plus tradition when he opened the resort on the shores of Bay Lake in 1898. The resort began humbly when Joseph and his wife Josephine opened their Bay Lake home to weary travelers and fishermen and shared a home-cooked meal. Enough people enjoyed Josephine’s food that word spread, and soon people were coming from far and wide to enjoy the beauty and relaxation of Minnesota’s Lake Country, a nice meal and Ruttger’s legendary hospitality. This foundation has grown to be what is now known as Ruttger’s Bay Lake Resort, which has become a mainstay for families to enjoy for over a century. Ruttger’s now includes a full lodge with indoor and outdoor pools, two renowned dining experiences, Jack’s 18, a championship 18-hole golf course, tennis and pickleball courts, retail shops and a full service salon, all on the gorgeous shores of Bay Lake.
