Crow Wing Energized is a grassroots community effort for health and wellness to help make the healthy choice the easy choice, increase active living and support healthy environments.

The evidence-based effort -- including obesity, stress and tobacco reduction -- includes four main goal groups: Healthy Choices, Mental Fitness, Workplace Wellness and Community Connections. • The organization’s mission is to improve the health and wellness of county residents of all ages by utilizing partnerships with schools, worksites and medical centers. • Events include providing yearlong Lifestyle Change classes for healthier living and to prevent diabetes; Matter of Balance classes to increase lifelong activity and reduce the risk of falls, annual Workplace Wellness Conference to increase resiliency and wellness at work, an annual health and wellness summit with keynote speaker and informative breakout sessions. • Tools include: data on active living, healthy eating, and healthy sleep -- with a Sleep Toolkit; reducing stigma to seek help for mental illness with the Make it OK campaign; exploring the problem of adverse childhood experiences; providing community grants.

NAPS is a nutrition assistance program just for seniors. With NAPS, qualifying older Minnesota adults receive a free supplemental food package every month.
