Host Noah Cappe returns for another season of ‘Carnival Eats’
By Andrew Warren TV Media
Who doesn’t love a day at the carnival? Whether it’s a harvest festival or a summer fair, the exhibits, the rides and the shows are an annual joy in communities all across the continent, a place where the whole family can find something fun to do no matter what individual tastes may be.
Of course, there’s another attraction on offer at fairgrounds, and for me it’s one of the bigger draws: the food. Actor Noah Cappe (“Good Witch”) seems to agree; he’s already set out for another cross-continental tour of fairs and festivals far and wide in the latest season of “Carnival Eats,” which airs Thursdays on Cooking Channel.
In this week’s episode, airing Thursday, Nov. 2, Cappe is at the San Diego County Fair, where he starts his visit with the most important meal of the day. He chows down on some French toast bacon bombs, which may not be the most nutritious of breakfasts, but the explosion of flavor more than makes up for that. Then, it’s time for some flavor fusions, first with a showstopping Maui cowboy burger that he soon follows up with a hearty serving of deep fried nachos supreme.
After his California feasting, the host jaunts off to the Midwest, where the La Porte County Fair has some carnival takes on favorite foods, from deep fried lobster mac and cheese to a tasty twist on the reuben sandwich.
Never one to pass on dessert, Cappe also finds the time to try out some giant-sized cream puffs.
Over the next few weeks, Cappe treats his taste buds to churro s’mores in Michigan, captures a pineapple unicorn bomb in California, and enjoys a special pizza with his name on it in Iowa. Of course, he also takes the time to check out the attractions at the festivals, drinking in the local culture and even taking a spin or two on some of the rides.
Carnivals of all sorts are home to some of the wildest and most creative foods around — after all, they’re places for fun, and the food should be fun, too. Hitch a ride with Noah Cappe in “Carnival Eats,” airing Thursdays on Cooking Channel.
