TAKE THE STRESS OUT OF YOUR WEDDING PLANS

BY SHEILA HELMBERGER

When it comes to planning your wedding, more organizing than ever can be done from the comfort of your own home.

Today you can search for venues, mull over menu options and even link all of your selections online to let your wedding party and members of your family be a part of every step.

Set Up a Wedding Site - The Knot, Zola, Wedding Wire and other hosts can make wedding planning a snap and serve as one-stop shopping for information. Share information such as how you met, introduce the members of your wedding party, suggest local accommodations or explain any special requests with those you have invited. Guests can submit RSVPs on the site and shop your registry.

Paper Supplies - Design your own original save-the-date cards, invitations, and even thank you cards, sitting on your sofa. Customize your creation with sentimental wording, personal photos, and colors that coordinate with your wedding theme. Affordable high-quality products can be ordered online that come in a multitude of sizes, styles, and paper types.

Google Calendar - The weeks leading up to your wedding will be busy. With so much to schedule, Google Calendar or another electronic version, can be invaluable. As details are finalized, schedule them on the calendar and share any necessary dates with those that should be included in dress fittings, cake tastings and bridal showers hosted in your honor.

Pinterest - Pinterest is the place for inspiration for all things wedding. Look through examples of colors, themes, flower arrangements and decorations. Handmade touches are a big part of today’s celebrations and the site is loaded with ideas from centerpieces to menus to ways to entertain your wedding guests.

Digital Slide Show - A digital slideshow is a fun and surprising way to keep guests entertained while there is a lull in the day’s events. Share photos of the two of you growing up. Include pictures of the early days of your relationship and things you have done together. It’s a personal touch that will delight those that know you well and friends that are new.

Making it Official - Include a family member or someone else special to the two of you by letting them conduct your wedding ceremony. Online programs offer the steps to become ordained and can add a sentimental and sweet touch to the day.

An Eye in the Sky - Photos from your outdoor wedding taken by a drone in the air can offer a perspective that a photographer on the ground will not be able to get.

Live Stream Your Wedding - A live stream of your ceremony over the internet can be invaluable for those who are far away or unable to attend the big day in-person to share in the event and not miss a thing.
