Crossing Arts Alliance

711 Laurel St., Brainerd wander around downtown Nisswa, you’ll be drawn to the beautiful mural on the building that extends to Big Axe Brewery. The mural is breathtaking and mesmerizing with the reflections, ripples, and bubbles. With its depth, dimension, and color, the mural looks like it could come to life.

The Crossing Arts Alliance helps enrich the Brainerd community through education and access to art. They regularly hold art exhibits, adults’ and kids’ classes, and a gallery to purchase work by local artists.

The Crossing Arts Alliance also makes for a unique venue for special occasions—where everyone can tap into their creativity and make an art keepsake. The Crossing Arts Alliance will work with you to help design your event, choose the art medium so that everyone in your group will enjoy the project.

Selfie Stop

An Ojibwe-inspired Babe statue, named Babe the Waabigwan Ox, sits on the corner of South 8th and Laurel Streets in downtown Brainerd. The colorful print on the ox was inspired by Ojibwe flowers and beadwork and celebrates Brainerd’s Indigenous people.

Music in the Park

Grab your lawn chair and head to Pequot Lakes, Crosslake, or Crosby for live music. Come support some seriously talented musicians and bands and enjoy a relaxing evening outdoors.

Pequot Lakes' Bands in the Park is at Trailside Park Saturdays starting at 7:00 p.m. (www.pequotlakes-mn.gov).

Crosslake Music in the Park is at the Crosslake Town Square gazebo on Saturdays starting at 6:00 p.m.

Crosby Music in the Park is at the Crosby Memorial Park the second and forth Thursday throughout the summer starting at 5:00 p.m.

Nisswa History Center & Museum

Take a self-guided tour of the Nisswa History Center & Museum, which includes the pioneer village, depot, and caboose. Nisswa has a rich history with Native American roots and the logging and railroad industries. Walking through the log homes will give perspective of hard-working lifestyle at the turn of the century.

Stage North

Stage North is a community theater that hosts productions in the historic Franklin Arts Center Theatre. If you love musicals and plays, consider watching a Stage North production!
