May this book nurture a love for learning and encourage lots of bonding moments between you and your kid.
Dear Parents, The moment that your child is able to hold a pencil and starts scribbling is the perfect moment to nurture their early cognitive and motor skills. Studies show that practicing tracing simple lines is a solid foundation for easily acquiring advanced skills in handwriting and drawing. This book aims to provide your kid with lots of fun writing activities, from simple lines to letters. Combining fun and learning within its pages, your child will be able to:
- Develop fine motor skills such as dexterity and grip strength
- Improve hand-eye coordination abilities and visual and pattern awareness
- Nurture creativity and abstract thinking
- Boost concentration and patience
To make learning engaging for your child, we have arranged this workbook into different sections, from beginner activities to advanced exercises. The first section enables your child to practice pen control through various lines. Afterward, the second part introduces shapes to your child. The third section focuses on tracing common objects, a section perfect for improving your child’s vocabulary. The fourth section challenges your kid with fun line puzzles. The fifth section deals with writing the counting numbers from 1 to 10. And the sixth section focuses on teaching the alphabet. It is our hope that this workbook will be an effective and enjoyable learning tool in enhancing your child’s pen control skills. But most of all, we hope that your child will be able to learn while having fun as they write and draw their way through the pages of this book! Sincerely,

A Guide to Kids Funbook: Pen Control As your kid excitedly flips through the pages of this book, let us give you some simple tips on making each activity much easier, effective, and enjoyable for your child: 01. It’s Time To Learn! Have a consistently scheduled time for performing and completing activities within the workbook. At an early age, children recognize routine and time, so it is important that you establish learning activities as part of their daily tasks. You may use the Date area on each page as a way to track down daily activities. 02. Mission Accomplished! Set a reasonable goal for your child. Do not rush them in finishing uploads of activity pages in one day. Always remember that learning is a step-by-step process and not a race to the finish. 03. Pencil, Pen Or Crayons? Be prepared with different writing tools. Your child may start with pencils at first, but if they want to color the shapes and figures with crayons or trace them with colored pens, let them. Creativity must always be encouraged. 04. The ‘Write’ Position. Teach your child the proper posture when writing, as well as the correct grip for handling pencils and other writing tools. 05. Enjoy The Learning Journey. Your children will easily learn new skills when they are enjoying each activity as if they are only playing. Keep the activities fun and enjoyable for your kid, without unnecessary pressure. Just tell them the initial instructions or show them what to do, and then afterward, let them work on their own and finish the activity at their own pace. 06. Color the Stars. Have you noticed the stars at the bottom of each page? Use them as a form of reward when your child accomplishes an activity, along with sincere words of encouragement and praise from you.

This is the introductory part of the workbook. In this section, your child will be acquainted with the different lines, such as straight lines, zigzags, and even curves. This is the perfect part of practicing proper posture when writing, particularly the correct handgrip on the pencil or pen. To start tracing the lines, follow the arrows pointing to either left or right. At first, guide your child’s hand in staying within the lines. Afterward, you can let them complete the rest of the activities. For added variety and fun to the activity, you can let your child use their favorite crayons or color pens/pencils once they have gotten used to holding the pencil correctly. To track down your child’s daily progress, fill out the Date part of each page. Also, remember to color the stars at the bottom every time your child accomplishes an activity.

Once your child completes the shape drawings, you can encourage them to color the shapes or draw something inside the shapes. For example, draw smiley faces on the circle shapes. Or sketch everyday objects with the same shape. For example, make the circle shape look like a ball. Let your child express their imagination and creativity! This section of the book focuses on improving not only your child’s handwriting ability but also their linguistic and vocabulary skills. Although letters might look complex at first glance, once you look closer, each letter is an organized arrangement of lines and shapes, the lessons that were tackled in the previous sections. Each page of this section presents a letter of the English alphabet, showing the appearance of uppercase and lowercase letters. The book implements the repetition method in training your child’s hands and eyes to recognize the letters and draw the lines based on the given examples on each page. The top part of each letter page has an example word beginning with the letter featured on that page. For example, A is for Apple. These examples can further improve your child’s vocabulary, as well as develop their reading, speaking, and writing abilities. The activity pages reinforce not just how to write the letter but also how they are related to real-world objects. To observe your child’s daily progress, fill out the Date part of each page that your kid has completed or accomplished.
