THE LIQUID WAY Ancient Rome gave due attention to its territory, outlaying projects that were to be in harmony with nature. Every building was thought to have an eternal equilibrium as it should have been the Roman Empire. Today, in the era of the “modern liquidity”, everything is in a state of change with the only certainty that there is a loss of absolute certainty. We are faced with the extreme destruction of the environment due to the overly projection towards the future by forgetting the present and the past. “The Liquid Way” is a documentary project that is developed along the path of the ancient aqueducts of Eastern Rome. It’s a walk around sixty miles that goes from the ancient mountain springs beyond Tivoli to Piazza di Porta Maggiore. The objective is to focus on the human traces of both the modern and the ancient man, in which the photographer presents himself not as a researcher of sociology or archeology, rather as a witnes of the flowing of time within space.

GIO’ POMODORO Gio’ Pomodoro’s plastic sculptures are not easy to grasp, spectators have to reach humility and attention as a particoular state of mind, in order to have an interpretation going beyond an initial simplistic vision. At first glance, the artworks strikes the attention for their innate, unknown and mystical beauty. Only a curious spectator led by incidence of light, lets the imagination project itself onto the sculptural support, going along a ballet, a courting. Wonder and amazement are just few of the emotions which come along this experience in its perpetual transformation. To guide all users towards such a vision, we use photography as a means of discovery, in order to make onlookers go beyond the mere appearences.

CONCEPTUAL
36
THROUGH How many times a concept pass through a media changing its meaning, without we don’t even notice it. Alteration after alteration, the original idea appears more contrastated between the dual nature of thing. To express this concept I took the city as an example and I have to pass it through an hole (camera obscura). I photographed the projection and then printed it. I photocopied the last one many and many times to observe the corruption of the image.

AWAKENING There are some particoular moments in life where everything appears clean to the mind, the inner world meet the outside world, without ignorance, attachment, and aversion (The three buddhist poisons). The soul become naked in its essensial beauty, free to dance into reality. Those little and precious moments can be call awakenings.
