Our Purpose

T

he Monroevian is a hyperlocal culture and lifestyles magazine. Our primary focus is to showcase our city, its entrepreneurs, business leaders and those who are creating an impact to incite pride of place. Our focus is to connect people to places. To share the unwritten stories and lesser-known facets of Monroe. We're hungry to share the stories of our community. We at The Monroevian are fixated on people and their stories. We believe that Monroe is overflowing with characters whose stories are fantastical and real and meaningful. Our hope is to learn and tell the stories of how our neighbors came to our city. We want to accurately reflect our city and its diversity. Those are the stories we want to tell. Our motivational purpose is to offer an outlet for ideas, connections, inspiration, beauty, history and culture to the community in which we live. We desire to enrich the lives of those who read our pages and to spur on change, even if that is just a change in the perception of who we are as a city. We believe in our city and its people, and we are about the business of seeing both succeed. Our intention is truly an altruistic one – to do good work, to expose the good work of others, and by doing so, aid in the successes of those who join us in this venture.

Preferred format for camera-ready ad submission is a PDF. Files must be CMYK, have a resolution of 300 dpi or higher, and must have all fonts embedded. PDF documents created using the “PDF/X-1a” is strongly recommended. For bleed ads, please do not include any crop marks.

EMAIL: Ads can be submitted via email to the following address: bruce@themonroevian.com. Please use the client name in the subject line. FILE TRANSFER: When using a file transfer website (such as Dropbox or Google Drive) to submit ads, a low-res pdf proof will be provided to the client to ensure that the correct file is placed in the magazine.

Although we do our best to ensure color accuracy, The Monroevian is not responsible for incorrect output of color or the color correcting of ads if a color-match proof is not provided.

CREATIVE SERVICES The Monroevian’s art department will provide professional and creative ad design to display advertisers at no cost. Photo images must be at least 300 dpi. We accept the following formats: .tif, .eps, and .jpg. Images from the Web or embedded in a Word document will not be accepted.
