WEDDING COORDINATORS WHY HIRE A PLANNER? you can spend months or even a year (or more!) planning this big day. by handing off all the details to an experienced professional, you’ll be able to fully enjoy your wedding. in our opinion, a good wedding coordinator is one of the most important components to having a stress-free, smooth-running wedding day having one will allow you to really experience the wedding you’ve been dreaming of all this time. WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHERS WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR IN A VIDEO TEAM? we shoot in a very photojournalistic style, capturing moments as they naturally happen. we do not pose moments or make you re-create them, but many videographers do. please make sure that the video team you hire understands that you do not want any “posed” moments - as this will interfere with the type of photography that you hired us for. VLAD FILMS: vlad shot our own wedding in January 2014. as photographers, we’ve worked with so many video teams and we knew we wanted our own video to be full of fun and emotional moments, while having all the friends and family that travelled to be there that weekend with us. vlad’s film is one of the most precious clips of our loved ones, and we’ve watched it countless times. if you want an untraditional, honest film, pick vlad. you can JUICE BOX MEDIA: danny and his team are amazing to work with. they have a documentary style and work well with us as photographers! they focus on the fun and emotional moments of the day, similar to us. PLUG VIDEO: dan and matt are some of the coolest guys we’ve ever met and they are so much fun to work with. they also have this awesome slow motion sony camera that turns regular video into something amazing. time lapse is also their specialty which adds another layer of depth to their videos. check out their vimeo for their most updated work. COOL GUY PRODUCTIONS: ryan and his crew actually have professional backgrounds in film and pride themselves in their audio. they are friendly, and easygoing.

MAKEUP ARTISTS WHY IS CHOOSING A MAKEUP ARTIST SO IMPORTANT? makeup and hair is the beginning of EVERY wedding day. it is extremely important to have a professional, punctual, and talented makeup/hair stylist that you trust. you should feel confident about the way you look - and we highly recommend having a makeup trial (perfect for engagement sessions!) to figure out exactly how you want to look like for your wedding day. give your makeup artist a deadline of an HOUR before you begin photographs. for example, if we have you for a first look at 3PM, you should be done with hair and makeup by 2PM. we cannot stress enough how ANGIE HAIR AND MAKEUP: angie did my make for our engagement session, wedding, day-after session, and many more occasions! i absolutely loved all of her suggestions, and she worked with all the inspiration i pulled for my wedding look to create the perfect hair/makeup that i envisioned. to top it off, she is one of the friendliest people i know and would be a great addition to your day. KACEE GEOFFROY: kacee did my boudior session and i completely trusted her to create a look for me - and she did not dissapoint! kacee is an amazing personality and extremely professional. she would be an amazing fit for anyone’s

WEDDING DAY TIPS GUESTS WITH CAMERAS we’ve been having a lot of “guests with cameras” at weddings lately, so we have started asking couples to ask some of their guests, in advance, to please refrain acting like wedding photographers. we can’t emphasize how inconvenient this can get, and the risk it poses to the final look of your photos. if you have friends who you know like to take a lot of photos, please just let them know that you have hired two professional photographers, and that we will be the only ones covering the event. we absolutely don’t mind people taking photos, it’s really for the ones who like to get up & walk around, trying to cover the wedding themselves. we say all this really to give you guys the best photos possible! FORMAL PORTRAITS we’re more than happy to take the time to photograph you and your families in a more traditional, formal manner. the only thing that we ask is for all these photos to take place at one time only during the day, for each day. this could be before the ceremony (if you are planning on seeing each other before), or right after. during that time, we can do as many as you wish to do. the rest of the time, the best working environment for us is when guests ignore us, so please let your closest friends & family members know that they don’t have to worry about pictures with you, and that we will handle all those at the designated time. we will be taking a ton of candid shots of everyone at the wedding, especially the ones closest to you. GETTING READY PHOTOS before we arrive to photograph your preparation and get ready for the wedding day, try to have your room as clean as possible. ideally, we would love for you to get ready in a room with a large floor to ceiling window with nice natural light coming in. it makes a world of difference!

GETTING READY LOCATION we highly recommend that both the bride and groom get ready at the same location (hotel, rental home, ect) as close as possible to your wedding venue. the further away you are the more risk there is for traffic and accidents. BENEFITS TO THE FIRST LOOK while you are figuring out your schedule, here are some things to keep in mind to decide whether you would like to do a “first look” or not. oftentimes, there is a hour or so of downtime between the end of getting ready and the beginning of the ceremony. we can take advantage of this time for photos by having a “first look” and begin photographing the bridal party, couple’s photos, and/or the family photos. after the ceremony, your friends and family are free to enjoy the rest of the night! of course, you may always still do a first look down the aisle. Just make sure you’ve allocated ample time for the portraits after the ceremony. PORTRAIT TIME below you’ll find approximately how much time we would like for portraits. Bridal Party: 20 minutes Family Photos: 20-30 minutes Bride & Groom Portraits: 60 minutes timing will vary depending on how large the bridal party and family is. most importantly, make sure you designate a family friend or member to call and organize your family portraits. this will help speed up the process tremendously! for bride and groom portraits, it is important to allocate an hour for your portraits in order to get the photos like the ones you fell in love with on our website! LIGHT the absolute best time to do portraits is two hours before sunset and into sunset. this is the ideal moment to take the bride & groom portraits during the day. if you are having an outdoor ceremony around noon time, it’s best to be situated under a shaded area. it’s during that time that the sun is directly above us, casting an unflattering and harsh light across your face.
