a lumnus is new Hospital Director

Dr. T. Mark Neer, class of 1976, has joined the CVHS as director of the Boren Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital and professor of small animal medicine. The Tulsa, Okla., native spent the last 23 years as a professor of medicine and clinical neurology at Louisiana State University.

“Mark comes to us with a strong background in internal medicine and neurology and a true love for OSU,” says Dr. Michael Lorenz, CVHS dean. “He is an experienced hospital administrator having served as small animal medicine section head at LSU.”

Prior to his LSU tenure, Neer completed an internship at Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston, Mass., from 1976-77 and a medicine residency at Kansas State University from 1977-79. He was a member of the CVHS faculty from 1979 to 1982 before leaving for two years of private practice in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

“I believe in teamwork in an organization,” Neer says, quoting 2003 NCAA football coach of the year Nick Saban. “Get out of yourself and into the team.”
