CVHS Welcomes new Faculty

Dr. Gregory Campbell, associate professor of pathology, has joined the veterinary pathology department and the Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory. Campbell, a native of central Oklahoma, received a DVM degree from OSU in 1985. He completed a residency in comparative and experimental pathology at the University of Florida in 1987 and earned a doctorate from Texas A&M University in 1991. His specialty is dermatopathology, and his research interests include comparative diagnostic pathology and the mechanisms of disease.

is a new research associate working in Dr. Mike Davis’ Comparative Exercise Physiology Laboratory. Williamson earned her bachelor’s degree from Otterbein College, Westerville, Ohio, in 1990 and a DVM degree from Iowa State University in 1996. She spent six years in private equine practice, including two seasons as commission veterinarian at Canterbury Park and Prairie Meadows racetracks. Her research focus is the pathophysiology associated with strenuous exercise in extreme environments using horses and dogs as models of human problems. Along with Davis, Williamson studies the sled dogs that run in Alaska’s Iditarod.

Dr. Kristyn Broaddus, assistant professor of small animal surgery, recently joined the clinical sciences department and is now accepting referral cases at the teaching hospital. Broaddus, who is originally from Michigan, received a bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University in 1997, her DVM degree from Michigan State University in 2001 and her master’s in biomedical science from Auburn University in 2005. She completed her internship and residency in small animal surgery at Auburn University and is a board certified diplomate in the American College of Veterinary Surgeons. Her research interests include immune tolerance kidney transplantation in dogs.
