2016 Autism Society of North Carolina Conference– Autism Through the Ages The Autism Society of North Carolina wants YOU to join them March 11-12th 2016 to hear from nationally and internationally recognized speakers, including Dr. Geri Dawson and Katherine Davlantis from the Duke Center for Autism and Brain Development. They are excited to bring together self-advocates, families, and professionals for two days of information sharing and networking. The ASCC is excited to be able to offer a limited amount of scholarships for parents to attend this conference. Please contact the office for more information. LEGO Club! Please join us on Monday, February 8, 2016 from 6:30-8:00 pm for LEGO CLUB! Children and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, their siblings, and parents are invited to take part in a new ASCC LEGO club. All ages are welcome to attend, but space is limited! Please register is advance: 910-826-9100 ext 2268 -Lego Club will be held at the Partnership for Children Building: 351 Wagoner Drive in the Multipurpose Room! ASCC members: $3.00 for child, $2.00 for sibling; Non-member: $4.00 for child, $3.00 for sibling.
FY 2016/2017 Board of Directors Nominees The ASCC is seeking interested individuals who would like to serve as members of the ASCC Board of Directors beginning July 1, 2016. If you are willing to serve, you must be a member of the ASCC and notify the ASCC office of your intent to serve no later than Friday, February 26, 2016. You will then receive an application which must be completed and submitted to the ASCC no later than March 15, 2016. The ASCC Board Development Committee will review all applications and recommend nominees to the Board of Directors. The nomination/election of the Board of Directors will be held at meeting of the general membership on May 9, 2016.
ASCC Support Groups ASCC Programs & Opportunities for Parents and Children
Support Groups provide an opportunity to share, learn, and connect. Parents, caregivers, guardians, and professionals are welcome to participate in all of our support groups. Please check the calendar on page three for meeting dates/times/locations. The HFA Support Group meets every second Monday of the month, Sep— Nov, Jan—May immediately preceding the Parent Education Program. This group meets in Room 414 of the PFC Re-
Workshops The After the Diagnosis Workshop is led by Amy Perry, ASNC Parent Advocate, and is held every first Tuesday of the month from 9:30 am— 12:00 pm. (odd calendar months)

The Autism Lunch Club (ALC) Support Group meets every second Tuesday of the month at various Fayetteville restaurants. Focus: Families of adolescents and adults with ASD. Childcare will not be provided. The Autism Breakfast Club (ABC) Support Group meets every first and third Wednesday of the month at the PFC
Resource Center, Room 414. Focus: Families of children with ASD up to age 12. Childcare will not be provided. The Preschool Support Group meets weekly on Thursdays at the PFC Resource Center, Room 343. Focus: Families of young children with ASD ages 1-5 years. Childcare will be provided. While every group focuses on a specific age range, parents of children of all ages are welcome to attend all support groups!
Working Workshops– IEPs and More! is led by Amy Perry, ASNC Autism Resource Specialist, and is held every first Tuesday of the month from 9:30 am-12:00 pm. (even calendar months)
The Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Workshop, led by Amy Perry, provides an opportunity for parents and providers to learn all about IEPs. It will be offered quarterly.
