SPORTS ARE BIG IN BRANSON

Branson has what sports planners, the athletes and contestants want. A central location in the middle of the country with lots to do for families and friends that come to cheer them on.

ARCHERY

The age-old sport of archery is increasing in popularity throughout the state of Missouri and the nation. In 2017 the Missouri National Archery in Schools Program (MoNASP) State Archery Tournament was held here for the first time. This tournament has grown from 2,100 archers to more than 4,000, and expanded to include 3-D Archery.

BASEBALL/SOFTBALL

Ballparks of America’s multimillion-dollar youth baseball tournament complex offers players a chance to compete on 2/3-size replicas of five iconic stadiums spanning the history of baseball: St. Louis Stadium, Chicago Field, Boston Park, Detroit Stadium and Brooklyn Field. It’s the premier stay-andplay youth baseball tournament destination in the country. Originally designed for 10U-13U youth baseball, girls softball has been added. Official home of the Babe Ruth League/Cal Ripken Major 70 World Series, it’s hosted teams from Australia, Canada, Dominican Republic, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Puerto Rico and South Korea.

CHEER / DANCE

Branson is famous for its theaters and many of them are versatile enough to provide the perfect venue for your next marital arts, dance, cheer, weightlifting or e-sports competition. Watch competitor’s energy and creativity increase as they become the stars of the show in front of live audiences.

FIREFIGHTER CHALLENGE

Recognized as the toughest two minutes in sports, competitors race head-to-head as they simulate the physical demands of real-life firefighting. Performing a linked series of five challenges in which they climb a five-story tower while hoisting, chopping and dragging hoses, then rescue a life-sized, 175-lb. ‘victim’ as they race against the clock and their opponents, the challenge draws competitors from all over the United States and numerous other countries.

FISHING

When it comes to bass fishing, trout fishing or bow fishing, Branson is top choice. Our three pristine lakes, world-class fishing guides, and scenic Ozark Mountains will make your fishing trip remarkable. Although bass can also be found in Lake Taneycomo and Bull Shoals Lake, the largest concentration and variety of species live in Table Rock Lake. Largemouth,

smallmouth and spotted bass dominate lake waters, while white and striped bass are more limited. Additionally, large bluegill, crappie, channel and flat head catfish can also be found within the cool, calm waters of Table Rock Lake. Bowfishing is the newest and most exciting fishing activity in the Ozarks. Find a plethora of carp, suckers, perch, catfish and gar in the shallow areas of our three freshwater lakes. With its long, river-like makeup and many intricate coves, Lake Taneycomo proves to be a paradise for trout anglers. There are over 750,000 rainbow and brown trout stocked into Lake Taneycomo every year.

FUTSAL

An indoor ball sport played on a hard court, 2021 will be the seventh year for the Branson Shootout futsal tournament to be hosted at the Branson Convention Center with more than 1,000 players.

DISC GOLF

Another growing sport in Branson is Disc Golf, an excellent opportunity for competitors of all ages to enjoy an outdoor activity with or without any prior skill. There are courses within the City of Branson Parks & Recreation offerings at Sunset and Eiserman Park, area schools as well as privately owned facilities. The 19-hole Branson Cedars Resort Treehouz discgolf course is considered one of the best in the Midwest. More than 7,400 feet in length, the Treehouz course offers a variety of challenges with features such as water obstacles, tunnels and heavy woods.

PICKLEBALL

There are exciting additions for pickleball players and enthusiasts. The Branson Championship Experience was held for the first time at the Branson Convention Center with special guest Tyson Apostol, a four-time contestant on the CBS reality show Survivor and the winner of Survivor Season 27 Blood vs. Water. The Experience plans to return to the Branson Convention Center in August.

POWERBOATS / JET SKIS

Based on the success of the 2019 Branson Grand Prix of Missouri hosted by Powerboat Nationals, the organizers decided to return in an even bigger way in 2021. Lake Taneycomo will once again became a super speedway for ProTunnel 2 and Hydro-cross Racing. Three races at the Branson Landing will be held in 2021 and the International ProWatercross event for 2021 is on Table Rock Lake.
