Welcome back racers to another year of exciting motocross racing with the MDRA MX Racing Series. This series, soon approaching 20 years here in the area is always well attended and the competition is as fierce as it has ever been. If nothing else during the past year, we have learned that this crowd is dedicated to the sport and nothing will stop them from getting out to do what they love, motocross racing in the Mid-Atlantic region Round #1 saw a combo effort between the MDRA and the PAMX and this event attracted over 800 race entries on the day. I haven’t seen numbers like this at a local motocross event for a long time and it shows the future is bright. The 50cc (4-8) Open division saw 49 racers with young Brody Haugh going 1-1 for the overall. There were 132 entries in the combined 50cc classes alone. The Junior Mini division is another that has had great numbers the last few years with this event showing 51 entries. The #734 of Reece Wheaton would be the man going 1-1 over Seth Kready in second followed by Joseph Shipley in third. The biggest turnout of the day brought 61 racers to the 250 C division. MDRA regular Evan Wolfe would win in dominating style going 1-1 for the day. I haven’t seen that many racers in one class in quite a while. Another indicator that 2021 is going to be red hot.
