President's Memo Hey, hey, hey Key Clubbers! My name is Andy Ros and I am happy to say that I will be serving as Decatur's Key Club president this year! As most of you know, the school year is starting up again so that means weekly Key Club meetings will be back again! I hope all of you are ready for this upcoming year that's going to be packed with service and fun! If you missed out on the rallies, or the bbq this summer, don't worry about it! There are many more events to come where we help the community, have fun, or raise money for Kiwanis Children’s Cancer Program and for all of you to attend DCON 2018! Our first meeting will be held on September 26th, at 5:00 pm in Decatur high school's library where we’ll be introducing you to all of this year's amazing officers, remind you what key club is all about, eat some food, play some games, and meet lots of new people! Make sure to bring as many of your friends to the meeting because everyone is welcome! Don’t forget that doing community service or going to events gets you points; points make you eligible to run for Decatur key club office and pie the officers if you have more than them!

Editor's Message Greetings fellow Key Clubbers! My name is Lianna, I am Decatur High Schools 2017-2018 bulletin editor/webmaster. This is my very first newsletter for you where you will see monthly announcements, the past and future events, your guys experiences and so much more! My strong desire to improve and flourish as an editor is very strong, hopefully, ya'll help improve what I create and like the monthly posts. I'm very excited to see how this year will turn out with our amazing District Board, officers, and members. Hopefully, the beginning of school year is getting rid of the "dog days" and preparing your inner "Kraken." I look forward to meeting you at our upcoming meeting.
Happy and hungry, Lianna Patoc.

Summer Seattle Rally
July 22nd
Kick-off Picnic
August 29th

Hello, my name is Andres, a member of Decatur’s keyclub. We threw the picnic at steel lake as a way to kick off the year with a bang and get to know all the new keyclub members who signed up on Gator days. We were grilling hotdogs and hamburgers, playing games, and overall having a good time.
rRecap Tacoma Rally
August 7th
I had a really fun time because I was able to talk people who I hadn’t seen all summer and. Fun events like this are what I cherish most about keyclub and are what inspire me to continue to serve in keyclub!
By: Cat Hyunh So coming into the Tacoma rally, I had no idea what it even was. I just felt like I needed to be part of Key Club more and so I decided to go. Walking in and seeing so many other schools and districts was crazy! It was really cool to see other places and how spirited they were about Key Club. At Decatur High School, we care about Key Club but there isn't as much of a commitment I feel like. Other districts were much more hyped than our district. They seemed to care much more, which made me get excited to see what Key Club can do for others and see that at Decatur it hasn't reached its highest point yet really motivates me and inspires me to build our club. I learned a lot and met a lot of people. It was just an overall really fun and good day.
