WOVEN FABRIC
RHYTHM 2018/19 I.
RHYTHM – FABRIC-DESIGN WITH ARCHITECTURAL INSPIRATION SUPERVISOR: Eszter Révész, assistant professor PHOTOS: Borbála Braunitzer CONCEPTION: My inspiration for the 6 parts of fabric-collection is firstly from Chinese pagodas, which have densely divided and patterned timbers, and secondly, from bright coloured facade of Mediterranean buildings. I composed rhythm of cold and warm colour temperature stripes for the warp system. I experimented with scales of floated yarns and with various grids. I took the pieces of buildings, like windows, timbers or puppet railings into my woven textiles.

TEXTILE COLLECTION IN INTERIOR 2018/19 II.
TEXTILE COLLECTION IN INTERIOR SUPERVISOR: Eszter Révész, assistant professor PHOTOS: Borbála Braunitzer CONCEPTION: I designed my interior textile collection to rooms with tropical mood and rooms which were soddened by the green environment. I drew inspiration from various species of insects for my fabrics. I visualised the characteristic patterns, colours and shapes of these insects on the fabrics. I used natural materials like merino wool, cotton rope or cotton- and linen yarn. The weaving textiles had the function of being room dividers and blinds, therefore I created loose textured parts, where the light could go through.

WOVEN TEXTILE COLLECTION TO 24 HEALDS LOOM SUPERVISOR: Eszter Révész, assistant professor PHOTOS: Borbála Braunitzer CONCEPTION: I made my fabric collection in the profile of Perennials international fabric and textile brand. I kept the brand’s characteristics, so I chose natural inspiration as rocks (e.g. agate) and canyons, furthermore I used broken colours as well as moderate patterns. I built my collection according to the Waving title, and my inspirations were rocks and canyons. I intended to show waves with weaving patterns, rhythm of stripes, pulse of weft’s thickness and gradient of colours.

RETHINK A FREELY-CHOSEN LEATHER OBJECT SUPERVISOR: Enikő Bodnár, university assistant PHOTOS: Júlia Szabó CONCEPTION: I got my father’s cowhide hunting gear as a start of designing my bag collection. I redefined the oval shape of the pouch bag: I elongated its scale and took it in space. To keep the characteristic of the original bag, I used thick and tight cowhide for the two pieces of the collection. The clear organic forms and the white colour gave the impression of a statue for my bags.

SHOE AND BAG COLLECTION 2019/20 I.

SHOE AND BAG COLLECTION SUPERVISORS: Judit Bráda, assistant professor Réka Vágó, lecturer PHOTOS: Dorina Léder CONCEPTION: My idea was to design my shoe collection by reshaping the form of the leg, namely redesigning the end form of the leg and the foot. Giving statue characteristic to the boots was more important for me than creating them wearability. I created the boot-soles from alternative materials like wood, glass, marble or synthetic resin which enhance the boot’s statue characteristic. Connected the pieces of my bag collection to the boots, my bags repeat the „nose bridge” shape of my boot collection. The colour of the whole collection is inspire by deep grey asphalt pavement which is illuminated by the early faint dawn and the lights of the city.

BIRD FABRIC COLLECTION 2019/20 II.

FABRIC COLLECTION FROM HUNGARIAN BIRDS SUPERVISOR: Eszter Révész, assistant professor PHOTOS: Borbála Braunitzer CONCEPTION: I created my exam work with the title Hungarian birds in connection with the theme identity and the two subjects „Édes hazám” and „Másfélmillió lépés Magyarországon”. Both Accessories designer and Woven fabric designer specialisations were inspired by my personal love of the natural treasures of Hungarian land. I built the woven fabrics design onto colours, patterns and impressions of the bird’s feathers. I adapted these into fabric textiles by autonomous creative work. I played with stepping out from flat surface by using alternative materials like wire ropes, book papers or plastic foils. I tried to express the impressions of feathers by various weaving techniques and different weaving structures. Because of the craft characteristics and the difficult reproducibility, the fabric collection would be suitable for decorative functions such as wall- and space-textiles or in the field of haute couture. 47

BIRD BODYOBJECT COLLECTION 2019/20 II.

BIRD BODY-OBJECT COLLECTION SUPERVISORS: Judit Bráda, assistant professor Anett Hajdú, art teacher PHOTOS: Borbála Braunitzer CONCEPTION: I created my Fashion Accessories collection focus on the structure, the construction and the position of bird’s feathers. I designed body-objects or body-jewelleries. I tried to illustrate birds which ruffle their feathers during the courtship dance by using luxuriant forms. I reached jewellery-likeness by the shine of water clear foils and by transparent patterns on foils.

CREATION 2019 – FUR COMPETITION FUR COAT COLLECTION CONCEPTION: My fur coat collection was inspired by the colourful and mask-patterned exoskeleton of insects. I tried to give a new lifestyle for my pieces symbolically: particular and exciting face-like compositions taking shapes from patchworks on coats. It seems like as if clothes would have a personality. The hard armours of insects are “transformed” into soft, delicate and silky fur materials, but the fur collection keeps the attributes of insects. I consciously combined various materials with different characteristics and different fibre-lengths like the silky fur of rabbit, the curly fur of Tibetan Lama, the long and soft fur of fox, the coat fabric textile or the smooth surface leather of Lamb Nappa. I played with the space-dynamic of fur-masses. I tried to enhance the playfulness of the coat’s form with intensive colours.
