01 From the Territory to the Sea. Landscape As a Tool. Master Thesis. |2015-2016| Awards and Recognitions Qualification of Excellent (9) Published in UPC Commons
The project is situated in the northern beach of Tarragona, a coastal city of 150.000 inhabitants in the southern part of Catalonia, Spain. Surrounded by a very much interesting mix of non-urbanised areas, suburban single familiar housing developments and infrastructures, the beach becomes the only real public space able to link these situations and give continuity to the zone. It is also the only non-urbanised (without a seawalk) beach of Tarragona’s waterfront. Territorially speaking, the project aims to intelligently overcome the barriers created by the infrastructure, creating connections between the sea and the inner territory. Right spots are found to place tunnels and bridges. The beach facilities are also reconsidered too, resituating parking lots, entrances and services, achieving a more respectful balance between the natural condition of the area and the recreational use. A profound knowledge of the territory and its characteristics is achieved, thus proposing four landscape interventions each of them dealing with the specificities of the site. 1. Beach bar (Stripe 1) 2. Sports facilities (Stripe 2) 3. Bridge (stripe 3)

02 The In/between as Public 80 Housing Units and Working Spaces |2012-2013| Studio Ibon Bilbao Etsab UPC w/ Alejandra Alonso
The project is placed in el Poblenou, a neighbourhood that follows the grid of Cerda’s Masterplan. Due to its industrial past, the mix of uses is still noticeable and it has a quite low density. Instead of densifying the perimeter and concentrating the free space in the centre, the project tries to reach a domestic scale public space in the in-between of the different blocks proposed. The existing blocks and the new ones are all treated with the same logic, being linked by the free space created between them. The block’s conceptualization is based in the flexibility and adaptability of its housing units. In floorplan, two concentrically structural squares define the building layout, creating two zones: the perimeter and the inner space. All the services are situated in the inner space, liberating the perimeter and allowing different housing units to be created.

03 The Sidepack Reuse of a Church as a Museum Extension |2013-2014| Studio Jordi Adell Etsab UPC
The project consisted in the reuse of and old church which needed to be converted in an extension of the museum of modern art of Barcelona (MACBA). The church itself had no special value. The main starting condition was that the connection between MACBA and the extension had to be done underground, for practical and security conditions. This meant that an underground level had to be constructed and that the church structure needed to be held by a new structure. My will was to use this operations as architectural tools to create interesting spaces. According to this, I decided to treat the church as an object, and situate all the services in a a new construction next to it. The two buildings would be clearly recognisable. I decided that the construction techniques will create the athmosphere of the sapces. The ground floor is situated 2m below street level, thus creating an hypostyle chamber exhibiting the new structural unions. At the same time, we gained space for the exhibition sapce in the top floor.

04 Neu Morta Ephimeral Light Installation |2014-2015| Santa Eul[alia Light Festival, Barcelona w/ J. Adell, M. Castel, C. Conill, K. Dalmeda, N. de la Red,G. Guerra, H. Lleida, S. Salinas
Awards and Recognitions Opinion FAD Adward, May 2016 Jury’s Finalist. FAD 2016 Published in ON Design Nº361/362, July 2016, Barcelona
The Project tries to redefine the existing relation between Sant Iu Square and Tinell’s porch. We think the porch as a double condition space, a space from which to see and to be seen. We want the porch to be the light of the square. A penetrable light. We want to open the porch to the visitors, and let them submerge in the light, be part of the light. First see, then, be seen. The intervention was built using very basic techniques and construction materials. Cotton ropes hanging from a gardening net lightened by black light bulbs.
