Musicians from the New York Philharmonic perform Bruckner’s Symphony No. 7. Pared down to only nine instruments, this skillfully arranged version of his bucolic symphony preserves all the energy of the original work while beautifully highlighting individual textures that are otherwise overlooked.
Written for a virtuoso of the time, Mozart’s Horn Quintet is today led by the Philadelphia Orchestra’s acclaimed principal horn Jennifer Montone. Brahms’s Sextet overflows with luxurious harmonies, and the low strings play the starring role.
