BRAVO! VAIL INAUGURATES A NEW CHAPTER this summer with two festival firsts. London’s acclaimed Academy of St Martin in the Fields led by violinist Joshua Bell is both the first international ensemble and the first chamber orchestra to grace the Bravo! Vail stage. The Dallas Symphony Orchestra, The Philadelphia Orchestra, and the New York Philharmonic all make eagerly-awaited returns, bringing inspiring masterworks, soulful jazz, and delightful pops programs to the spectacular majestic setting of the amphitheater. Joshua Bell reveals a new dimension to his musicianship as the music director of London’s Academy of St Martin in the Fields. Bell leads the famously conductor-less chamber orchestra from the concertmaster’s chair in distinctly intimate performances. The forty-fourmember Academy is venerated for its beautifully refined sound and is the first international orchestra to ever perform for the festival.

As the soundscape builds you walk through the piece visiting small collections of players or lone instrumentalists who, as they move to various performing stations, weave apparent randomness into a stunning cohesion.
