www.cn-maskinfabrik.dk OXYGEN REGULATION All stokers are fitted with oxygen sensors that measure the oxygen percentage, i.e. the excess air that passes unused through the boiler. Thus the quantity of fuel can be regulated optimally in proportion with the air. If the draught in the flue varies, the system is automatically adjusted accordingly. Stepless regulation of the screw conveyor adjusts the system according to the boiler temperature and the oxygen content of the flue gas. This means that boiler output can vary from 100% down to 20%. Below 20%, the system runs on interval operation.

Agitators and fire-fighting equipment All CN loose stokers are available in four standard variants with 250, 400, 700 and 1000 litre hoppers. They are all equipped with automatic fire extinguishing equipment, agitators, maintenance-free bearings, a powerful bottom conveyor in 8 mm ST 52, safety thermostat, temperature sensor, lambda probe, boiler shunt, cleaning tools and oxygen regulation.

CN 25 BOILER fitted with CN 400 STOKER Modulated operation (patent applied for) with a sliding adjustment of the fuel and air feed allows manual stoking. When solid fuel is placed in the boiler, it is ignited by the flame from the stoker. As combustion increases, the controls throttle back the screw conveyor, since the manually-stoked fuel is consuming the oxygen. The air supply still comes from the fan on the stoker, and when the firewood burns out, the controls will turn up the screw conveyor again. In order to get the best result of manual stoking, we recommend that the boiler-output is minimum 50%.

Manual stoking with wood as a supplement

All combustion takes place in an enclosed hearth cast in 50 mm fireproof ceramics. The temperature in the hearth is approx. 1100 degrees, which gives optimal combustion. This also means that a cast iron boiler can be used with a waterfilled bottom grate, or the stoker can be placed on other boilers. There are an amazing number of possibilities. The doors and the stoker can be placed to the right or left as desired.

www.cn-maskinfabrik.dk CN 15 UNIT All combustion takes place in an enclosed hearth cast in 50 mm fireproof ceramics. The temperature in the hearth is approx. 1100 degrees, which gives optimal combustion. Cleaning is very easy by way of the two front-fitted doors, where ash can be removed and there is good access for the cleaning brush. All steel surfaces that come in contact with flue gas are made of corrosion-resistant steel. The doors can be placed to the right or left as desired. All boilers are supplied with a bypass valve and fire-fighting equipment. A holding tank is unnecessary, since the boiler system is regulated from 100% to below 3 kW, which means there are no problems with summer heating either. Agitator in the hopper is not standard, but is available as an option.

www.cn-maskinfabrik.dk STOKER CN 250 / 400 / 700 / 1000 Thank you for your interest in our product The stoker fulfils the requirements of authorities with regard to the safety of machines, since the machine has CE marking in accordance with the Directive 2006/42/EC on Machinery and Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC. It is important to buy machinery that is marked. The machinery is therefore constructed in accordance with strict European safety standards, which are listed in the Declaration of Compliance for the stoker. The machine is based on a comprehensive technical dossier, which is kept by the manufacturer. If the door to the tank is opened, or the stoker is run from the boiler, the machine will be disconnected. (There is no afterrun on the rotating parts.) In addition, an instruction manual for the machine is supplied on delivery. The stoker can be fitted to an existing boiler. There must also be a 3 phase 400 volt power supply, with neutral and earth (CE plug) max. two metres from the stoker. The burner head is fitted outside the boiler, thus maintaining the possibility of manual stoking with firewood. The feed screw conveyor is constructed on a 30 mm axle with welded-on spiral windings Ă˜110 mm in 8 mm ST 52. The hoppers on Types 250, 400, 700 and 1000 contain 250, 400, 700 and 1000 litres respectively. The hopper is fitted with an agitator that ensures uniform feed of material to the conveyor.

The stoker is fitted with: l A powerful sleeve shaft gear fitted directly onto the conveyor axle. l Powerful fan motor with safety grille. l Approved circuit breaker that stops the conveyor and agitator during filling. l Rails to move the stoker away from the boiler. l Approved circuit breaker that stops the conveyor and agitator when the stoker is moved away from the boiler. l Water extinguishing equipment as standard. l Burner head cast in 50 mm fireproof ceramic. l Thermostat that stops the conveyor supply when the temperature or oxygen level is too low. l The stoker can be supplied with a 24 kW, 45 kW, 80 kW, 120 kW or 195 kW burner head.

www.cn-maskinfabrik.dk CN BOILER SERIES The boilers in this CN series are three-draught boilers constructed according to the latest principles for boiler design with solid fuel and stoker feed.

The boilers are robustly built and well insulated, and all parts that come into contact with flue gas are made of corrosionresistant steel. The boilers can be supplied with a fuel input pipe for automatic feed and doors on the right or left side.

All parts are dimensioned to give the best possible use of the material fed in. The combustion chamber is circular, which provides the best heat absorption and collects the ash as much as possible.

www.cn-maskinfabrik.dk CN BIOFEEDER CN Maskinfabrik’s Biofeeder is a ready-made system for automatically stoking big boilers with biofuel (woodchips, shavings, pellets etc.) from a silo to a stoker boiler. With an external feeder system it is possible to use several different fuel types with automatic feed to the system. Function: A quantity X m3 of biofuel is filled into the silo, and every time the stoker is low on fuel the feeder starts automatically. Three flat springs revolve at the bottom of the silo and push the biofuel towards the conveyor, after which the conveyor transports the fuel up to a cell-lock that leads it down to the stoker. When the silo is full, the flat springs will bend around the rotation plate, and gradually, as there is less and less fuel in the silo, the flat springs will straighten out, thus taking up a suitable amount of biofuel all the time. At the same time this prevents bridges of woodchips forming in the silo.

NEW MODEL FOR WOODCHIPS Mega: CN Maskinfabrik has introduced the new Mega, which makes stoking with woodchips child's play. No more problems with bridges forming or anything else annoying. Mega is a stoker with a hopper that can hold large quantities. Mega is available in three different models, 1.25 m3, 2.5 m3 and 3.5 m3, which can all be adapted to customers' needs. The Mega hopper is 1.5 x 1.5m, so that it can be filled from a miniloader or front end loader. Controller, efficiency and combustion all meet the same high standards as CN's other stokers. Mega can also run on wood pellets or other alternative fuel types.

www.cn-maskinfabrik.dk SOOT BLOWING AND EFFICIENCY With today's fuel prices, it is necessary to get every possible joule out of the biofuel. Soot blowing is a sensible alternative to the familiar manual flue cleaning. The particles that settle on the insides of the flues are removed by compressed air. This cleaning method ensures that there is optimum draught in the system, which again ensures optimum effiiciency. And with the fuel prices we see today, this is an very important factor in maintaining a reasonable heating economy.

The picture shows how the pipes are clean and white, which indicates optimal fuel combustion.

AUTOMATIC ASH REMOVAL Boilers from 25 – 195 kW can be supplied with automatic ash removal. This makes the work of handling the ash considerably easier.

Depending on how the customer wishes to manage ash transport, CN can also supply a practical ash bin that can hold 210 litres of ash.

At CN Maskinfabrik we recommend that all systems should be fitted with draught stabilisers to minimise the risk of backburning.


www.cn-maskinfabrik.dk CN Maskinfabrik can now also offer you ”Heat-units as turnkey container-solutions” We are offering to build our existing biofuel-fired boiler systems into steel containers. These are complete with piping, pressure-expansion tank and electrical installations. On the installation site, you just have to connect the supply and return pipes to the existing system, as well as 16A 400V power supply and water supply. There is galvanized steel plate on the floor in the boiler-room, a fire extinguishing hose on the wall, as well as lighting inside the container.

• In many cases it shows that a container-solution is cheaper than building a complete new boiler-room. • Boiler sizes up to 80 kW takes only the half of the space in a 20 feet container. In the rest of the space, it is possible to build a fuel-supply magazine, containing up to 11-m³ biofuel. • Boiler sizes bigger than 80 kW will often take all the space in a 20 feet container. In these cases, it is necessary to build the fuel-supply magazine as a separate solution.

The four pictures above shows a very common solution, with a CN120 boiler including biofeeder built into a 20 feet container. We have mounted the biofeeder and a big cell-lock for woodchips on the rear end of the boiler. This solution is suitable for all kind of biofuel. A stainless steel chimney, approx. 2 m above the roof of the container is included.

CN’s big fuel-supply auger with circular agitator, will at the installation at the customer be connected to the cell-lock. The fuel-supply magazine has to be build separately, right next to the container. With this solution, it is possible to fulfil the customers’ needs regarding any size of fuel-supply magazine. It is also possible to put up a glass-fibre silo for wood pellet’s and a flexible auger system. 9

METALBESTOS MULTI50 a multi-function stainless steel chimney Metalbestos Multi50 is a high-technology multi-function chimney system. The chimney can be used with normal boilers and solid fuel burners, low-temperature boilers and condensing boilers. The Multi50 is built up in three layers with 50 mm CMS insulation. It is laser welded both inside and outside, constructed entirely in 0.60 mm stainless steel. Durable – weather resistant – efficient draught The chimney sections are simply assembled with flush bushing and hose clips. The robust outer pipe protects the chimney from external damage and corrosion. The smooth inner pipe allows a fast, even flue gas flow and heats up rapidly to optimal draught. The outer pipe carries all of the construction's own weight, so that the inner pipe can expand freely without stress. Lead easily and inexpensively through the roof!
