Why BRCA network?

“ Life changed when I discovered I was BRCA 1 positive in 2018, after my mom ' s ovarian cancer diagnosis. We had no idea about the mutation before this. As always in these situations, I started googling out and after scanning tons of info, I found a BRCA reference association in Italy (where I lived at the time), and that was a game changer!

When I became fully aware of the impact of a BRCA mutation, my first thought was: what if my mom had known? She probably would have followed a stricter prevention program and had her ovaries removed in time? This thought struck me: how many other people could be in the same situation? How many people still feel alone and afraid in the process of screening, prevention or treatment? ”
