WELCOME to BREAKBULK CHINA

Janet Nodar

Content Director Breakbulk Events & Media Dear Breakbulk China Friends: Welcome to Breakbulk China’s fifth year in Shanghai. We are pleased to bring you our unique mix of China-focused business intelligence, networking opportunities, and industry connections. We hope you profit from, gain from and learn from everything we offer at Breakbulk this year. Professor Xuefeng Wang, our opening keynote, will share his first-hand insights on development and industry opportunities along the upper reaches of the Pearl and Yangtze rivers, and their effect on maritime logistics, as the Chinese government continues to encourage manufacturing to migrate inland. On day two, we are pleased to open with an exciting global outlook on rail, still a growing infrastructure investment throughout the world despite the economic slowdown. We are also happy to include a special look at rail in China. Breakbulk’s presentations also include a VIP shipper forum on managing China’s transport envelope, a special presentation on handling hazardous goods – key after the explosion at Tianjin Port in 2015 – and an examination of a Sinotrans-Sarens joint venture specifically created for China’s One Belt One Road initiative. In addition, we will present an overview on wind energy in China, an important energy cargo emphasized as a green investment by the government, and a special project cargo case study on a massive refinery move that will become a Discovery Channel special later in 2016. This year, most of Breakbulk’s conference program, including the opening keynote, will be presented in Chinese, with simultaneous translation into English. A few sessions will be presented in a mix of Chinese and English. We are also excited to be offering unique micro-seminars on the topics of logistics contract negotiations and chartering and charter parties. These sessions, in Chinese, will be taught by respected industry experts on our exhibition hall floor and are open to all Breakbulk attendees. Thank you for joining us at Breakbulk China 2016. Enjoy! Regards,
