breeze promotion After nine years of trading, Nutz Hairworks of Humber Road, Beeston is closing its doors. But don’t panic! Millie and staff members Katie Brooks and Brooke Jones are in no danger of putting their feet up! Breeze in catches up with them...
Citing new family commitments and pending tram works in Beeston as some of the reasons for the change in venue Millie says ”We’ve been invited along to join the team at Rachel Fletcher Hair Design on Station Road, Beeston. I’ve known Rachel professionally for many years and have been very impressed by her success since opening her first Salon in November 2011. The lease on Humber road was due to expire in September and I had to make a really difficult decision as to whether to continue trading from there or pursue another avenue” continues Millie. “We have a strong client base at Nutz and I needed to be confident if we moved elsewhere that we’d be able to offer the same level of service and in premium level surroundings that our clients have come to expect. Rachel Fletcher is the perfect solution for us and we’re really excited to be joining Rachel and her team. At Rachel Fletcher they provide the highest possible standards in professional skills and pride themselves in customer care. To maintain such high standards all their designers are constantly updating their skills and knowledge to give you the look you want. “We’re looking forward to welcoming customers old and new”

Meet Marion Mortimer, she will make sure you put your best foot forward on your big day... “Thinking about getting married? Have you already named the day? There is so much to do, a venue to book, guest list to make, flowers to order and the search is on to find the bridal gown or outfit of your dreams. Time to take stock, do you feel well? Check out a suitable diet and possibly a supplement to top up your ‘feel good’ factor. With the help of your stylist, try different hairdos, hair up? hair down? Don’t forget to take your tiara or hair ornament. Frowny lines? Check out best products that suit your skin to help you look serenely confident as you face the camera. It’s never too soon to embark on a fitness and beauty routine and you will find so many professionals who are willing to help make this the best day of your life. Don’t stop at the waistline though because wedding preparations are the whole package and you don’t want to spend your special day in agony because your feet will love you for spending a little time and consideration of them. My favourite saying is ‘when your feet hurt, it shows in your face’ and it’s true! So treat yourself to a full foot treatment, nails trimmed, hard skin removed, corns dealt with and mount an attack on that troublesome verrucae that is driving you crazy! To help with your budget, I am offering a discount to the bride and groom and together, we can make sure that your feet are the last thing on your mind on such a very special day”. Just contact Marion to make an appointment and let’s get the show on the road. Just mention ‘Breeze’ to qualify. Good Luck! Telephone 0115 939 3662 or 07876 445062

Fans Of Five A Day Flock To Local Company A new Nottinghamshire vegetable box company has signed up over 200 customers in the last eight weeks, following a hugely successful pilot. The business is now preparing for full launch across the NG4-6 and NG8-16 postcode areas on 3rd September 2012, expanding its services even further at the start of 2013. The aptly named Parsnips and Pears sources its produce from local farmers and growers which means the offer is totally seasonal but without the premium price tag associated with organic vegetable box products. Sara Barlow is the force behind this new business; “Many customers miss their high street greengrocer and are delighted to find a service that fills the gap. Others have families to feed with healthy appetites and are savvy enough to know you don’t have to pay a hefty price for good quality.” “Eating seasonally makes for a more varied diet and allows us to offer fair and reasonable prices. This is not produce that has been imported or freighted from one end of the country to the other; it’s been picked from a nearby field and is on your fork soon afterwards.” “We pay our suppliers a fair price and still deliver their produce at a great price to our customers. That stacks up economically when compared to an equivalent supermarket shop.” The boxes come in different sizes; prices start from £7.99. Visit www.parsnipsandpears.co.uk or call 0115 822 8622 to order. The website is also a great source of seasonal information, recipes, competitions and news!

breeze appeal Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People will be opening its doors to the public on Saturday, 15th September between 10.30am and 3.00pm. An official opening of their silver medal winning Chelsea garden will be at 12.30pm. The Open Day is intended to give all members of the public an opportunity to visit the East Midlands’ only children’s hospice and discover more about the work they do. Each year over 1,000 visitors attend to meet care team staff, tour the building, enjoy refreshments and browse the merchandise stalls. This year’s Open Day will be even more interesting as visitors will be given the opportunity to see the garden that won a silver medal at the famous Chelsea Flower Show. The garden is a place of relaxation and reflection. It provides a tranquil area to help parents and staff deal with the extremely emotional day-to-day challenges of working and living with lifelimited children. Geoff Ellis, CEO at Rainbows commented: “To see a Chelsea garden once the flower show is over is a rare sight - They are normally broken up on the last day of the exhibition. Our garden is special, as Freemasons from Leicestershire and Rutland, along with their Grand Charity, made a hugely generous donation to ensure that the garden was fully funded to be recreated at Rainbows. The Provincial Grand Master for Leicestershire & Rutland, Right Worshipful Brother David Hagger will officially open the garden at 12.30pm. Everyone in the community is welcome to come along.” Throughout the day, visitors can also meet members of the care team. They will be available in a number of rooms (including the hydrotherapy pool, music room, multi-sensory room and soft play room) to give detailed information on the therapeutic treatments each room is used for. Mr Ellis added: “Ultimately, we want everyone in the East Midlands to have the opportunity see the difference their support makes to Rainbows, we now care for more families than ever before in a fantastic environment. Although Rainbows is a hospice, it’s also a happy place full of fun and laughter. We are sure everyone will enjoy their visit.” Visitors are welcome to arrive at Rainbows on Lark Rise, Loughborough, LE11 2HS at any time during the open day. For more information on the charity, call 01509 638000 or visit www.rainbows.co.uk.

Attenborough Cricket Club has secured Olympic legacy funding from Sport England’s Inspired Facilities Fund. The Inspired Facilities fund is part of the £135 million Places People Play legacy programme that is bringing the magic of a home Olympic and Paralympic Games into communities across the country. Every sports facility that receives funding will carry the London 2012 Inspire mark – celebrating the link to the Games. Attenborough Cricket Club will receive £50,000 of National Lottery Funding to help to upgrade the Pavilion facilities, such that those with disabilities and girls can enjoy the benefits the club has offered to others for many years. The improvements will include new changing rooms, showers, toilets, kitchen and a social viewing area where ‘indoor disability table cricket’ can also be played. Club Chairman, Nick Allcoat, said: “We are delighted to have secured this investment, which means we can upgrade the quality of the premises to match the idyllic setting of our ground situated near to the Attenborough Nature Reserve. Building work will start during August with an anticipated completion by the end of the year. We’ll then be ready for the 2013 season, which will be a great lift for everyone connected with the club – given the poor weather we’ve had so far this season! Club President, Geoff Gooch said: “This investment by Sport England to improve the facilities at Attenborough Cricket Club is fantastic news. The Cricket Club has a long tradition of providing cricket for all ages and abilities, and is just reward for the efforts of those involved over many years. This money is an investment in young people for today and for the future; we’ll see top class cricketers, training and playing in top class facilities.
Older people who think their footballing days are behind them don’t have to hang their boots up just yet, thanks to new walking football sessions kicking off at Bramcote Leisure Centre from next month, with the first session free. Running every Wednesday between 2.00pm and 3.00pm from 12th September, this new version of the beautiful game uses the same rules as five-a-side football, except participants are not allowed to run, only walk. Cabinet member for Arts, Culture and Leisure, Councillor Richard Robinson said: “These sessions are a great way for older people to keep fit, whether they are still active or returning to exercise, whilst socialising with other local people. “Broxtowe Borough Council is offering the first session completely free and I encourage anyone who thinks they are too old to exercise to come along and try it for themselves.” Each session costs just £2.00 and is followed by tea, coffee and biscuits until 3.30pm. Booking is recommended. Participants are advised to wear astro trainers or trainers and shin pads. For more information or to book your place please contact Broxtowe Borough Council on 0115 917 3572, email sport@broxtowe.gov.uk or visit www.broxtowe.gov.uk/olderadults For a full list of experiences and groups available at Bramcote Leisure call 0115 917 3000 or visit www.broxtowe.gov.uk/bramcoteleisurecentre

Why Karate and why the Dojo? People practice Karate for a number of reasons, to get fit, to defend themselves, to gain confidence, to gain their Black Belt maybe even to compete or just to be part of the social side of a club. As well as having a thriving children’s section every evening is dedicated solely to adults, at The Dojo they have every age and ability training and all are catered for. They are lucky in that our facility is just for the practice of Karate so they have a fully matted and air-conditioned hall with specialist equipment. They have changing rooms with showers and hair dryers and a lounge area for members to relax as well as a comprehensive timetable of classes that enables members to train with people of a similar ability. They have been teaching karate for well over thirty years and in that time have seen some quite spectacular changes in people that have been taught Karate. “We provide a friendly, safe environment with experienced and helpful instructors” says Aidan Trimble who heads The Dojo and is himself a former World Champion 7th Dan. Book your free lesson now. 0115 8754212 www.thedojo.biz “The Dojo - second to none. The Dojo is a gem in Nottingham. The purpose built facilities are excellent. The teaching provided by Sensei Trimble and the other instructors is of a consistently high standard. Most importantly for me, as a beginner, the atmosphere in class is very friendly and supportive. Recommended.” Above comment posted on Touch Local

“I want to say a very big thank you to Paul and Teresa Allen, our local plumber. I am a lady in my late seventies and a few weeks ago I fell in my own home and didn’t know what to do as my nearest relative was on holiday. I felt very frightened. With the start of another academic year upon us, there is an opportunity to reflect on the past twelve months at Bluecoat Academy Sixth Form. The year got off to a flying start with record exam results last summer. Apart from the two private High Schools, Bluecoat was the only institution in Nottingham to achieve a 100% pass rate, with half of all entries gaining an A*, A or B grade. This examination success has made the Sixth Form a more popular choice than ever, with over 350 students enrolling September 2012. At the time of writing, we eagerly anticipate our 2012 exam results! The year has seen a number of notable individual achievements, such as that of Aaminah Ghani, a Year 12 student who has gained a place Oxford University's prestigious UNIQ summer school for medicine. Aaminah was one of only 40 from 680 applicants who were successful in gaining a place. The summer term held a number of exciting opportunities for our students. Our Sixth Form hosted an evening with Paula Stirling, the Senior Admissions Tutor from Christ’s College, Cambridge, to advise young people and families on how to access top university places. Just before the end of term, 10 Sixth Form students and two members of staff went on a trip to the Dominican Republic, organized in collaboration with the Mission Direct charity. We look forward with real excitement to another busy and successful year at Bluecoat Academy Sixth Form.
We warmly invite you to join us for our Open Evening on Thursday 20th September. This is an opportunity for parents and students to look around Bluecoat Academy, meet our staff and students as well as explore our buildings and experience a little of what goes on inside them! Bluecoat Academy has a long and proud history spanning over 300 years. It has a reputation for academic excellence which is borne out by the way our results have increased year on year for the last three years. This year over 90% of our students achieved 5 or more A*-C grades, a record and a fantastic achievement! Bluecoat is about much more than academic progress although this is a very important element of our work. Each student is nurtured and valued as an individual and we work closely with our young people to bring out their gifts and talents. This year students have tried their hands at canoeing, ice-skating, zumba, kick boxing, charity community activities, street dance, horse riding and so many more. In addition we have a football, cricket and street dance academy that meet in the mornings before the start of the day. As a Church of England Academy we are passionate about our faith in God. Acts of Worship are lively and often student led. The Christian Union is very active and runs groups for different ages. All our students get involved in a range of activities raising money for a variety of charities. In the course of the year we have raised over ÂŁ5000 for local, national and international charities. Our premises span over two sites. Building work is now underway at the Wollaton Park Campus to bring it in line with the modern facilities enjoyed at Aspley Lane. We are delighted that our new students starting in 2013 will be able to enjoy these fully refurbished and state of the art premises. We look forward to welcoming you to Bluecoat Academy so that you can see for yourself what makes us so special.

breeze appeal The nation is being asked to volunteer their professional skills to boost charities, local community groups and clubs and help them survive the recession, as part of Make a Difference Day on Saturday 27th October.
Local organisations like playgroups needing advice on how to recruit volunteers safely, local clubs wanting advice on refurbishing their buildings, and hospices looking for help with their ICT and websites are only some of the beneficiaries of CSV Make a Difference Day. The day is supported by Channel 4 News Broadcaster, Jon Snow, and Music Producer, Pete Waterman, as well as small local groups across the country and major charities including Barnardo’s, Sue Ryder Care, Leonard Cheshire Disability, Action on Hearing Loss, Marie Curie Cancer Care and Cancer Research UK. Music Producer Pete Waterman, says: ‘I am urging the nation to share their professional skills and passions to support local charities, community groups and clubs. I volunteer across the nation supporting community groups and young people who are interested in my passions such as music, railways and trains. I know first hand the difference it makes to their lives.’ Is Szoneberg, Head of Volunteering says: ‘CSV Make a Difference Day is the chance for people to try out volunteering for the first time and make a difference in their community. We believe that everyone can make a difference – from people knitting toys for sick children in hospital to a group of local people getting together to clear up waste ground. With local groups and charities struggling through the recession this year we’re particularly looking for people with professionals skills to help out.’ This year, CSV Make a Difference Day offers free inspirational “How-to” guides for top tips on how to give time to local groups including How to be a professional volunteer.

How-to be a professional volunteer offers inspirational ideas on the wide variety of skills people can use to volunteer. After school and sports clubs, small charities and community groups urgently need people to share their skills and passion to help them survive. From web design, marketing or accountancy to photography, gardening or music – everyone has a skill they can use to help others. Giving up a day or an hour a week really does make a difference; you will see the positive impact it can have on people’s lives. Maureen volunteers her professional skill teaching computer skills at her local library. She started her own computer training company in 1985, and now has two other similar businesses that are all very successful today. She says “For me, volunteering provides an awful lot of joy but also a structure to my week. I’ve already met some fantastic people, who I probably would never have crossed paths with if I didn’t volunteer my time. A group called ‘Palmers and Friends’ consisting of fourteen members in total who have repeatedly proven that they are not only great musicians and singers but also spiritual people have been invited to perform to raise much needed funds. The event is being organised by a small Christian Group in Long Eaton “We are fully aware of the fact that we are unable to change things nationwide but we believe that with the help of Long Eaton residents we can make a difference locally”. The event is to support Canaan-Trust this year, a charity that doesn’t only provide accommodation but also rebuilds people’s lives. Kevin Curtis, the director of the charity, said: “We decided to have faith and persevere despite our funds being withdrawn this year”. Millie Richards, the Elder of the SDA Church in Long Eaton said after visiting Kevin, “The work they do is wonderful. I want to support them”. The enthusiasm continued leading her and the group to make a decision to simply cover all the cost related to organizing the event so that every penny raised is secured. To join them is very simple. The easiest way is to order a ticket via email inaidofhomeless@live.co.uk or buy one in Anderson’s Tea Room, 30 Market Place Long Eaton, NG10 1JL. Tickets are sold at a nominal price namely £2.5o for an adult and £1 for a child in order to allow anyone to come. If you want to do even more invite your friends or take a donation which will be collected during the programme or buy some refreshments, books, DVDs and more to again support Canaan Trust. Or they still need more staff that would make this event a success for everybody involved.

Thirty Brownies from Nottingham were literally seeing stars last month during a trip to the inflatable planetarium at Nottingham University. The girls, all aged between 7 and 11, began a fascinating journey into space in the ‘Inflataverse’, where they learnt how to find the North Star and heard some of the stories behind the constellations. ‘It was a really fascinating experience for us all,’ said Brownie Leader Emily Hogan. ‘The planetarium made you feel like you were actually in space!’ The Brownies’ journey continued with an interactive talk about the planets and the opportunity to view the sun through one of the Inflataverse telescopes. Although it was a very cloudy afternoon, they all managed to get a good glimpse of the sun up close. ‘I really like the stories about the constellations and seeing the sun through the telescope,’ said Yasmin Hull, 8, a member of Wollaton’s 101st Kingswood Brownies. Our core business is trying to lower our customers energy bills at a time when the price of fuel is going up, all of these products are long lasting so a small investment will reap rewards over the coming years.
We are committed to saving energy and the environment. We can put together measures that will either produce electricity or save electricity. By changing your existing fluorescent fittings to LED, all with very little disruption, you can enjoy high quality lighting without the fear of large bills. The voltage optimization works well domestically and commercially. When using lighting and appliances ie: fridges, in the case of convenience shops you have a number of fridge units and lighting on between 12-16 hours per day. Small changes could potentially save hundreds of pounds per year. SOLAR PV Solar pv or Photovoltaic panels produce electricity for your home or business. A typical 4 Kw system facing south will produce approximately 3,400 units or Kwh of electricity per year with the feed in tariff and savings you will earn /save over £1,000 per year this is index linked and householders this is tax free as well. Great investment .If we include the expected rise in electricity and the index rise this could make a return on investment of 28% annualised over 25 years. LED LIGHTING LED lighting has taken the industry by storm if you were to change 1 LED fluorescent fitting or tube the savings are around 70% If a small shop running 10 light fittings with 4x2ʼ tubes in each we could save you over £250 per year and with electricity prices rising this saving will keep rising and with an LED fitting running 10 hours per day 365 days per year should last over 10 years. ELECTRIC RADIATORS We are Farho Electric Radiator approved installers. These radiators are energy efficient with a saving of up to 30%. We can give a cost of running on an annual basis this is carried out with a heating survey all free of charge they are a great replacement for storage heaters, and even better for conventional electric heating. All this and a 10 year guarantee on the appliance and no leaking as
with traditional water filled piped heating system. VOLTAGE OPTIMIZATION The incoming voltage into your property is around 240v but the equipment works at an optimal voltage of 220v so the over voltage dissipates as heat or vibration. A simple to install voltage optimization devise regulates the voltage to around 220 volts, reducing the electricity wasted. Savings of up to 17% and a payback of 2-3 years.
OFFER!
WHAT WE COULD SAVE YOU EACH YEAR:
Farho and Rointe electric radiators FITTED FREE In Sep12

breezegardening As we approach the end of the glorious British Summer we can take heart in the many enjoyable things still to come in our garden. Whilst bedding plants may now be waning, life still continues to flourish - only the pace slows a little to cope with the gradually shorter days. Let’s get busy once again with our ‘little paradise’. Last month we looked at some of the common pests we face and how to deal with them. This month we turn to the more enjoyable aspects of keeping our garden ‘rolling along’ so that we can continue to enjoy it throughout the seasons. September starts to bring cooler temperatures along with windier conditions. In our March issue we covered micro climates - the local conditions that can govern success or failure for your planting. It is worth revisiting that subject (back issues can be viewed online at www.breeze-magazine.co.uk) and pick up a few pointers as to where to place your plants and pots along with considerations such as erecting a sheltered area if you have a prevalent wind where you wish to plant out.
The thing is to take account of the seasons affects in terms of what it does to plant life. The most fundamental aspect of this is of course the sun. The days are noticeably shorter and this means that flowering plants tend to withdraw from the scene as the plant reserves its energy. Annuals completely die off eventually as they are simply not built to withstand more than one season’s growth. With not as much to do in the ornamental garden then, we look to other areas. If you have a fruit or vegetable patch, you'll be happily reaping the rewards of harvest, from tree borne fruit to root vegetables. It's also the time to get out and start planting your spring-flowering bulbs for next years ‘flowering fiesta!’. It’s a rather nice time to be in the garden doing things as it’s not too hot and the fresh air is really welcome as we tend to get indoors in the evenings now. It’s also a time to already be planning ahead to that spring welcome. So, ok, it’s not been winter yet but the little amount of work we do now will be forgotten until that magical moment when life reappears again in full swing early in the next growing season. Greener Gardens, continued its lawncare knowledge and staff development by spending a day working with Allan Moore, Regional Advisor for the Institute of Groundmanship. The IOG is the leading professional organisation for grounds management, recognised by the National Governing Bodies of Sport and the public and private sectors for it’s industry knowledge and technical expertise. In conjunction with Greener Gardens they designed a training day aimed specifically for the home lawn. During the day, time was spent looking at the latest lawn care techniques, these were then put into practice exploring lawn health assessment techniques and building bespoke lawn development plans. John Draper commented “It was both a great opportunity to spend time with such a knowledgeable organisation, exploring how the latest learning’s from professional turf management can be integrated into your garden to achieve and maintain your desired lawn. And re assuring that our current procedures are in line with current professional practices”. Greener Gardens are an independent business and have been looking after lawns locally for over six years. It’s never a bad time to start improving your lawn, be it controlling weeds, pest and disease control and it’s often cheaper than doing it yourself. breezegardening Sowing and planting Sweet peas are a good one to sow in a cold frame or greenhouse for early summer colour next year and are a good way to keep focussed on gardening in the darker months. Other hardy annuals (Consolida, Calendula, Centaurea, Limnanthes and poppies for instance) can be sown in the ground, lying there waiting for the next season’s touch of warm sun after their slumber. Spring-flowering biennials such as Viola, Digitalis (foxglove) or Erysimum (wallflowers), will now need planting out. These can be sown in the summer time ready for this time of year if you forgot this time. Did you read our plant guide back in the May issue? Check out the types of plants and how they grow/die back in the seasons. This is also a good time of the year to plant any new perennials, especially towards the end of September when the soil is still warm, but moisture levels are increasing. In all then, not a time for giving up on your little patch but to get ready for more to come. The autumn months can somewhat confusing for the gardener, instinct tells us that the autumn is a time of gentle decline, a time to wear fleecey wear and staying in and watching the latest dvd ‘big movie’ summer hit! It’s as if we almost resign ourselves over to the winter mode’ but nature just isn’t like that. This comes down to our lack of true plant understanding, but then our modern lifestyle is somewhat divorced from the natural cycle. Plants ‘see’ autumn as an obvious time of plenty, being temperate so not causing heat stress, but not yet cold enough to stop root growth. Pleant of moisture around too perfect for our green friends so let’s get out there and still enjoy the lovely things that grow so easily around us. Don’t forget to keep on learning with us as we travel onwards to even greater gardening skills and knowledge! Enjoy.

To make sure that everyone can benefit, Churchcroft are extending the offer of free health checks for rabbits for the whole of September! Why not use the opportunity of a free health check to learn about the best way to keep your rabbit happy and well? The experts at Churchcroft can also advise about the new vaccine available for rabbits to prevent the two killer diseases which are common amongst rabbits in the U.K. The new vaccine is improved over the previous ones and, even better, at Churchcroft Veterinary Centre there is a 10% discount on rabbit vaccines during Rabbit Awareness Month. After the cards were counted, Rylands’ residents were found to be making savings of about 46,000kg of CO2, 67,000 litres of water and more than £8,000 per year, showing that together we can make a difference. Their “Eco Dolls House”, illustrating simple ways to make changes to our homes and lifestyles, has attracted interest from young and old alike.Find out more and how to get involved at www.greeninginbeeston.weebly.com. On the 21st of July, GEM ladies packed up their bags and headed up to Calver to take part in a Barbershop singing retreat with Sally McLean, the renowned chorus director of the White Rosettes, multiple time winners of UK barbershop competition. A lot of laughs, tea, singing and frolics were had by all and I would like to thank everyone who made it such a fantastic weekend. GEM also sang at the Derby Beer Festival on 11 July to encouraging crowds, startling them into silence with Bad Romance to begin with, and cheered into an encore after the last song. It was a successful night for all, including the two new recruits who completed their first sing out that night congratulations! GEM are now preparing for Biddulph music festival on 6 October and of course the UK Barbershop convention in October. The Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers (LABBS) holds a National Convention annually with many choruses taking part each year. When Annie's husband John dies of leukaemia, she and best friend Chris resolve to raise money for a new settee in the local hospital waiting room. They manage to persuade four fellow Women's Institute members, Cora, Celia, Ruth and Jessie, to pose nude with them for an "alternative" calendar, with help from hospital porter and amateur photographer Lawrence. The news of the women's charitable venture spreads like wildfire, and hordes of press soon descend on the small village of Knapeley in the Yorkshire Dales. The calendar is a success, but Chris and Annie's friendship is put to the test under the strain of their new-found fame. Based on the true story of eleven WI members who posed nude for a calendar to raise money for the Leukaemia Research Fund, Calendar Girls opened at the Chichester Festival Theatre and has since become the fastest selling play in British theatre history. The Calendar Girls’ cast has experienced a rollercoaster ride of emotions with nervous knee knocking fear, anxiety and some trepidation, but the friendly, relaxed and supportive cast has provided a safe and dignified environment. The cast and crew have already been rolling around in laughter. There is a great camaraderie between all of the cast members. The People's Theatre Company productions have received rave reviews and won a multitude of awards from NODA and NANDA for actors, directors, set designs and costumes. “Our Calendar Girls cast have a wide variety of talents with

experience in opera/pop/touring as singers in bands and performing in plays as far apart as Mansfield and Rugby. They have relished a great, humorous script and the opportunity to be part of such an iconic play, with the ability to raise money for Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research at the same time. They really just wanted to take their clothes off. Even the shrinking violet Ruth proves she is no limp rag doll as her self- confidence flourishes. This is a very flamboyant and tastefully directed 'Calendar Girls' which will leave you feeling glad you booked early and not losing out on a great retelling of the story”. 'Calendar Girls' will be performed at Nottingham Arts Theatre, George Street, Nottingham on the evenings of Tuesday 25th to Saturday 29th September starting at 7.30pm with a 2pm matinee performance on the Saturday. Tickets are £12 / £10 Concessions / £7 per person with Group of 10 + and can be purchased from the Box Office on 0115 9476096, online at www.nottingham-theatre.co.uk or at Nottingham Tourism Centre, Smithy Row (near the Market Square)
