NOW YOU CAN LOOK AND FEEL EXCEPTIONAL “It’s a delight when we see the outstanding results that our clients achieve with Strawberry Lipo and Endermology” explains salon owner Cailee Byron. Many have tried lotions, potions, diets, working out in the gym and the like – all to little or no avail, but Cailee has seen clients’ faces light up with the results they’ve achieved with this new treatment and comments:“It really does warm our hearts.” Clients can help regain their self-esteem with these treatments as many people find the the effects of cellulite, sagging jowls,‘bingo wings’, bulging tummies, poorly defined bottoms or enlarged thighs can have a dramatic effect on how they feel about themselves. Lowering self-esteem and, sometimes, self-worth. That’s what Cailee finds so great – “seeing the self esteem pour back into peoples’ lives”. “After each treatment you can actually see peoples’ self confidence being regained as their skin tightens, as their tummies reduce in size. It is almost, as their cellulite melts away, their self-confidence just soars. That can be so rewarding”. she adds. Strawberry Lipo and Endermology treatments are at the very cutting edge of technology. It is truly amazing what these machines can achieve. All whilst the client is lying down, relaxing, as the treatment gently works its magic. It’s simple and painless. Cailee isn’t one to give treatments that she wouldn’t have herself. “I regularly have Strawberry Lipo and Endermology sessions” she enthuses. Clients are not alone in recognising the benefits of this treatment - it’s a regime that is believed to be shared with many well known celebrities such as Coleen Rooney, Claudia Shiffer and Elle Macpherson. “Strawberry Lipo can be just so effective in particular” Cailee continues. This is a view shared by many in the international press - with rave reviews, Suzi Dixon
writing in the Telegraph Newspaper about the treatment with favourable results for her. “You are in safe hands with guaranteed results” Cailee explains. “All my staff are highly trained both in using the machines and in the help & advice they offer. This can really put you at ease. Plus, we can actually offer a guarantee behind the treatments that we offer.” Try before you buy with a superb offer at Cailees:“I realise that some people can be suspicious of the claims CAILEE BYRON - OWNER OF CAILEE HAIR & BEAUTY we make. This is why I’d like to extend my own personal invitation for people to try either the Strawberry Lipo or Endermology treatments for just £35 – a real fraction of the cost. I would urge anyone to just give it a go.The results you’ll be able see are just outstanding. The results you’ll feel are even better! Plus membership packages are available to help you stay as the new you forever!” Booking couldn’t be easier, just call (0115) 946 1994 and Cailee’s will do the rest.

WEAR A DAFFODIL Marie Curie Cancer Care is asking people to help ‘paint the town yellow’ this March by wearing a daffodil pin to back its annual Great Daffodil Appeal. Every donation for a daffodil will help more Marie Curie Nurses to provide free care to terminally ill people in their own homes or one of the charity’s hospices. Most people would choose to die at home if they were terminally ill, yet the majority die in hospital, the place they least want to be. This year Marie Curie Nurses will make this choice a reality for people by providing free care for people in their own homes throughout the UK. None of this work would be possible without the generous support of people who donate to the Great Daffodil Appeal or give up their time to volunteer in their local community. Debbie Ventham, one of the charity’s Nursing Ambassadors, explains why the appeal is so important: “I have been a Marie Curie Nurse for seven years and I’ve looked after people from all walks of life, including my own sister who died at home surrounded
breezemagazine 6
by all her family. Like my sister, most people want the choice of being at home at the end of their life - in their own bed, looking out onto their own garden, with their family and friends close by - and Marie Curie Cancer Care makes this a reality. “Marie Curie Nurses not only look after the patient but their families too. We work shifts, often at night, giving carers the chance to take a break, spend quality time with their loved one, or simply get a good night’s sleep. Just being there to talk to patients and their families, to put their mind at ease and allay any fears they may have, can make all the difference. “In March I’ll be wearing my daffodil pin in memory and celebration of my mother, sister, and all the patients I’ve had the privilege of looking after over the years. Please join me by wearing a daffodil pin and ensuring that every person with a terminal illness has the choice to access free Marie Curie nursing care.” Daffodil pins can be picked up from local stores, schools and street throughout March. The charity is also looking for local stars to play their part as volunteers behind the scenes. So whether you’ve got two hours or two days a week to spare, why not volunteer some of your time to help make the Great Daffodil Appeal a success. Your time will help raise much-needed funds so that Marie Curie Nurses, like Debbie, can continue their work.
For further information about the appeal or to find out how you can help, please call your local Marie Curie Fundraiser Laura Read on 0115 938 4827 or visit www.mariecurie.org.uk/daffodil To access a Marie Curie Nurse, speak to your GP or district nurse. Wedding bells for hearing dog Mitchell...
l a e p p a e z e bre
A hearing dog played an extremely important role at a family wedding recently when he was the ‘ring bearer’ for his deaf recipient’s daughter’s marriage ceremony. Mitchell, a five year old fox-terrier cross border collie, proudly carried the wedding rings in a small ring pouch fastened with burgundy ribbon to his collar. “Emily wanted Mitchell to play a full role at her wedding as he is part of the family,” explains Don. “So Mitchell carried the rings up to the alter and the best man, who had never met Mitchell, untied the silk bag from around his neck to take the two rings out of a small leather pouch. Mitchell never flinched. Everyone, including the ceremony officiate commented on his excellent behaviour.” Don (60) discovered he was losing his hearing twelve years ago and his world fell apart. A qualified music teacher, Don played the organ six days a week at the local crematorium. His hearing loss meant that he quite literally withdrew from his life as he struggled to adjust to his world of virtual silence. Says Don:“I found myself withdrawing into a shell and became fearful of the ever increasing busy world. I tried to involve myself in charity work, but on one occasion I was staying overnight at a university campus when there was a fire in a nearby building and everybody was evacuated on the signal of the smoke alarm. I slept through the alarm, not realising it was sounding. It was then that I decided to apply for a hearing dog who would not only alert me to danger signals such as smoke alarms, but also everyday household sounds like the doorbell and alarm clock.” Don was matched with Mitchell and the pair have now been together for over three years. “Life has reverted back to much of what it was before, although sadly there can never be music again,” says Don.“Having Mitchell by my side has allowed me to avoid much of the stresses of deafness and what was becoming a dangerous world for me. Mitchell is my best mate, my dearest trusted companion. I couldn’t be without him; he is a big part of me and who I am now. My family have seen the difference he has made to my life and that’s why Emily wanted him to play such an important role at her wedding.” If you would like to find out more about how you can help to change the future of a deaf person like Don, please contact Hearing Dogs for Deaf People on 01844 348100 (voice and minicom), email info@hearingdogs.org.uk or visit www.hearingdogs.org.uk

Youth Council led touching tributes to victims of the Holocaust and subsequent atrocities at a special Holocaust Memorial Day service in Bramcote Hills Park recently. Broxtowe Borough Council employees joined councillors, local residents, young people and religious and multi faith groups in the Walled Garden at Bramcote Hills Park to mark the 11th annual Holocaust Memorial Day. Members of the Broxtowe Youth Council delivered a thought-provoking presentation around this year’s theme of Untold Stories, which aimed to tell the story of the lives wasted in genocide. Following the presentation, a Ginkgo Biloba tree – a species known for its medicinal qualities – was also planted as a touching tribute to Dr Matel Shimonovna Chernyavskaya by her grandson, Igor Chernyavsky. Each year, residents of the Borough mark Holocaust Memorial Day with a memorial event in the tranquil surroundings of Bramcote Hills Park. The annual event remembers those affected not only by the crimes against humanity committed during the Holocaust but also in subsequent atrocities in Cambodia, Rwanda, Bosnia, Kosovo, Darfur and others throughout the world.

Erewash Musical Society presents Jekyll & Hyde on 21st - 26th February 2011 at ‘The Chatsworth Centre’ Long Eaton. Breeze finds out what to expect... Erewash Musical Society are currently in rehearsals for their next show Jekyll and Hyde. This is quite a departure from their recent musical comedies such as “Gypsy”,“42nd Street” and “Anything Goes”. It is a chilling adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson’s epic novel and contains well-known songs such as “Bring On The Men,”“In His Eyes,” and “This Is The Moment.” “The music is fantastic” says Chairwoman Christine Hewitt “and is yet again another opportunity for Erewash Musical Society to showcase the wealth of talent it has within the society.” Leading roles are played by Mark Birch as Dr Jekyll/Hyde, Tracey Renshaw as Jekyll’s fiancée Emma Danvers and Netty Leek as his ill-fated mistress Lucy Harris. The show is set in London 1885, Dr Henry Jekyll is on the brink of discovering a new formula to split the good and evil personalities inside each of us. However he needs a human being to try the formula to conclude his experiment. When the Board of Governors of St Jude’s Hospital deny him permission to do this, Jekyll decides that it is he who must try out the formula with dire consequences. But how much control will Jekyll have once he has carried out his intensions, his alter ego, the misanthropic Edward Hyde, and how will it affect his friends, acquaintances, and his fiancée? Packed with intensity and drama, this is one thriller of a musical you would miss at your peril... Tickets on sale now at www.erewashmusicalsociety.co.uk or call 01332 875350 You can also obtain tickets from the Chatsworth Centre on Saturday mornings.

Leading local Psychotherapist, Martin Smith PhD runs a well established private practice in Long Eaton and specialises in helping people overcome issues around stress and anxiety, which can so often blight their lives. Martin firmly believes that such conditions do not have to rule and ruin lives with effective therapy, individuals can take back control of their lives and move on. At this time of year as spring approaches it is an ideal time to take action, the problem is that many people take action alone and try to solve their problems without vital support. With the right support, individual efforts, which are so often well meaning can be greatly enhanced to the point where life changes can be made, and the blight of anxiety, stress, depression and other related issues can be lifted. Trying to deal with issues like, anxiety, stress, depression and phobias on your own is difficult and when things do not work the issue just gets worse for the person. Martin comments “Coming to see me people often say it has been so much easier and it is worth while seeking outside professional help” If you feel ready to take action now and take control call Martin on 07973 410 010 or email itctherapy@aol.com to arrange an appointment, he is available at times to suit, especially weekends and evenings.

Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People has joined with Gable Events to launch the third Nottingham Riverside Festival Dragon Boat Challenge. The 2011 Challenge takes place as part of the annual Riverside Festival on Sunday 7th August on the River Trent at the Victoria Embankment and is one of the largest and most eagerly anticipated team events in the region.
Dragon boat racing has an ancient Chinese history and the Festival is a re-enactment of a tragic event that took place more than 2,000 years ago in the kingdom of Chu. Legend has it that falsely accused of treason and exiled by jealous rivals in the government, despairing warrior poet, Qu Yuan, threw himself into the Mi Lo River. Local fishermen rowed out to save the drowning poet and tried to rescue him from vicious fish by beating the water with their paddles. But their attempts failed and every year in Hong Kong a Tuen Ng (Dragon Boat) Festival is held as a mark of respect for the fishermen’s frantic efforts and to commemorate the tragic death of Qu Yuan. The dragon boat’s fierce looking dragon’s heads were added later to ward off evil spirits and in Hong Kong special dumplings are eaten to represent the dumplings that were thrown in to the river to stop the fish eating the mighty Qu’s body. According to the Chinese calendar, 2011 is the Year of the Rabbit which bodes well for participants in the Dragon Boat Challenge as it is considered the luckiest sign in the calendar. It also symbolises great ambition, talent and diplomacy, so the winning teams should be gracious in their victories! No previous experience is required to take part in the dragon boat racing, just plenty of team spirit so why not take up the challenge? Thankfully, you don’t need the physical strength of a Steve Redgrave or the athleticism of a Jessica Ennis to be successful as teamwork, timing (and of course a little bit of luck!) win the day. The dragon boats, qualified helms and all racing equipment are provided and each crew of up to 11 people is guaranteed a minimum of three races. The Festival offers a full day of fun on land as well as water with plenty of activities on the bankside to entertain teams and spectators between races. The Challenge’s official charity, Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People, is the only children’s hospice in the East Midlands and cares for over 220 local children and their families every year. An incredible team helps to control symptoms, improve quality of life and provide end of life care. To provide such a high level of expertise and professional care costs £3.8 million a year of which less than 15 percent comes from the government. Katie Baxter, Events Manager at the hospice comments:“The Dragon Boat

Challenge is a fantastic opportunity for Rainbows as it gives us a chance to raise essential funds with the help of the local community. Thanks to everyone involved, we are able to continue to be there.”The top fundraisers for Rainbows will win the charity trophy plus a special meal kindly donated by Opium Bar & Restaurant in Nottingham city centre. Carol Lester, Director of Challenge organisers, Gable Events, adds; “The Challenge is a great chance for companies and organisations to try something completely different, promote themselves to a large local audience, network with local companies and potential clients and raise money for Rainbows. It is also a fantastic team building opportunity - what better way to get to know what makes your colleagues and competitors tick? We expect the Challenge to be even more popular than last year so we recommend teams get their entries in early to guarantee a place”. what’s on City Arts Nottingham is bringing a fabulous treat to Nottingham this month. Imagination our Nation, an ambitious nationwide project for young people and their communities, will play a major part in the Light Night Festival, as this event sees the first gathering – and illuminating - of a national family of five giant puppets, known as The ‘Eternals’. Happening on 18th February, the free spectacle will take place at the City’s Brewhouse Yard Museum Gardens, Castle Boulevard, and begin at 6pm. New for Light Night, The Eternals are brought to Nottingham by international outdoor performance company Kinetika and its partners. These include City Arts Nottingham with support from Nottingham City Council. The Eternals’ visit to Light Night marks an important milestone for Kinetika’s unique, cutting-edge project Imagination Our Nation. ION brings together artists, young people and communities across Great Britain, using music, dance and outdoor performance to celebrate culture in our communities. Taking its inspiration from the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Imagination Our Nation aims to involve young people in shaping their future becoming champions, achieving their personal best and fulfilling their potential, whatever that may be, as citizens of tomorrow. Representing one of 5 hubs (or areas of activity)of the innovative 5-year project, City Arts Nottingham is taking a leading role in this national conversation. Imagination Our Nation culminates over the period of the 2012 Games, with huge and fantastic celebratory events involving its thousands of participants from Nottingham and across the UK. Says Ali Pretty, who devised Imagination Our Nation for Kinetika;“We are thrilled that Light Night will see this fabulous group of characters being illuminated for the first time. Since our project began in 2008, a number of characters have arrived into communities across Great Britain. Processional structures and magical puppets have brought story, dance, music and wonder to thousands of people in hundreds of events, big and small. “Many people will remember the arrival in Nottingham’s Market Square of Star Child, who has since visited a number of schools, parks and events in the City. We’ve discovered that everyone, especially children, are completely mesmerised by Star Child. No matter where she goes she receives a wonderful welcome. And now we have the ‘elders’, the Eternals, here at the Brewhouse Yard, to begin their part in the story.” And Alison Denholm of City Arts adds,“As a core partner of the ION project, we are delighted to be hosting the first gathering of the Eternals, each of whom will bring at least one smaller Champion puppet with them.Through our community and schools programmes, we have created giant chimes, canopies of leaves and the beautiful Nottingham Goddess. These will all be there to welcome the Eternals. We hope as many people as possible will be able to see this fabulous event on 18th Feb as part of the Light Night Festival.”

Buon Natale Pumpkin Ravioli Mantua region, Northern Italy The secret of good Italian food lies in the way it carefully combines flavours whilst maintaining the integrity of simple ingredients and this fragrant Pumpkin Ravioli is no exception to that rule. The dish is traditionally eaten in Northern Italy as part of the Christmas Eve Banquet, after which the children put out their shoes in anticipation of a visit from La Befana – a female Santa who fills footwear with small toys and treats, but only if they’ve been good! Serves 4 Ingredients For the Pasta: 400g flour or, alternatively, a pasta making flour 4 free range eggs 1 tsp salt 2 tsp extra virgin olive oil
Smoked Garlic & Artichoke and Roasted Butternut Squash Risotto with Lemon Asparagus in a Balsamic Dressing Serves 4 Ingredients 2 small-medium butternut squashes 2 shallots, finely chopped 2 sundried tomatoes, finely chopped Half tsp smoked paprika 600ml light vegetable stock 125g Arborio rice 75ml dry white wine 4 cloves smoked garlic, roughly chopped Half lemon, zest only 4 artichoke hearts in brine (rinsed) cut into quarters 3 tbsp parsley, finely chopped 3 tbsp basil, cut into fine strips
Filling Ingredients: 2 kg pumpkin, cut into quarters 15ml olive oil 1 large red onion, peeled and finely chopped 225g mostarda di frutta (alternatively you can use a mixed fruit chutney and add ? tsp black pepper) 1 tsp salt Half tsp ground nutmeg Half tsp ground cinnamon Half tsp ground ginger 125g vegetarian parmesan-style cheese grated To Serve: 30g butter 30g fresh parley chopped 150g vegetarian parmesan-style cheese
Method 1. Preheat oven to 180C/ 350F/Gas 4. Heat stock in a saucepan until boiling, then reduce heat and keep on a low simmer. 2. Cut the squashes in half, remove seeds and drizzle with olive oil. Roast in the oven for approximately 30 minutes. 3. Combine shallots, tomatoes, paprika and 30ml of the stock in a small saucepan and cook gently until soft and all the liquid has been absorbed, then transfer mixture to a large frying pan and stir in the rice. 4. Pour in the wine and stir until it has been absorbed, then add the smoked garlic. 5. Start to add the stock using a large ladle. Cook gently, stirring regularly and making sure all the liquid has been absorbed before adding the next ladle full. This should take 25 – 30 minutes. 6. Once the rice is tender add the last ladle of stock as well as the lemon zest, artichokes and herbs. Season to taste. 7. Place each squash half on a serving plate and fill with a portion of risotto. Serve with the steamed asparagus and dressing.
breezemagazine 26
Method 1. Combine the pasta ingredients, lightly knead and leave in a cling filmed bowl to refrigerate for 1 hour. 2. Heat the oven to 200C, 400F, Gas Mark 6 and bake pumpkin until soft, approximately 30 minutes. 3. Remove the seeds and scoop out the baked pulp, finely chop and place into a bowl. 4. Heat the olive oil and sauté the onions. 5.Reduce heat and add the mostarda di frutta, salt, and ground spices, mix well. 6. Combine the parmesan cheese, pumpkin and onion/spice mixture into a bowl and set aside.
7. Using a pasta machine or fat rolling pin, roll out the pasta dough 15cm by 50cm and 2mm thickness. Layer the pasta sheets between tea towels to prevent them from drying. 8. Place a heaped teaspoon of the mixture into 2 rows at approximately 10cm distance apart. 9. Lightly spray the pasta with water and sandwich this with a top layer thus creating a sandwich effect. 10. Using a ravioli cutter, cut into 5 cm squares and place into boiling water as quickly as possible. 11. To serve, drain the pasta and return into the pan along with the butter, and parsley. Lightly mix and serve with the parmesan cheese.

Owner Jason ‘Charlie’ Charlesworth explains “My family have lived in the Beeston area for many years. gardening
Gardens, like homes, tend to reflect the lives of those who live in it. Sun worshippers will have garden furniture for sunbathing and dining, more private residents may opt for tall privet bushes to shield them from unwanted attention, while those used to entertaining might plump for more lavish displays, such as water features and ornately sculpted pieces.
breezemagazine 34
Deciding how you would like your garden to look is the easy part, the real challenge is finding the best kind of garden designer to suit your specific requirements. When considering the design of your garden, one of the best places to start is by getting in touch with a local gardener or landscaper. By contacting a professional you are gaining the best knowledge about not only the best way to layout your garden space but also how to maintain it as it develops and grows. Today’s designer needs to draw on skills that include a sound horticultural knowledge, an understanding of ecology and conservation, the ability to analyse the garden and, most of all, to interpret effectively the hopes and wishes of the client. Look through portfolios - a complete garden design portfolio covers all aspects of hardlandscaping including structure and drainage, planting design and sourcing, maintenance;
costing, project management, as well as any specialist elements including water, lighting and garden furniture. It’s not enough just to know which plants look best and what soil to use - especially when you are planning a comprehensive re-design that will allow you to enjoy it’s features for many years to come. There may be many reasons that you need professional help in your garden from the simple requirement of needing what can be a very physical job doing to sorting out an eyesore within an otherwise reasonable view. The kind of work you might need could be led by very practical and hence the building of structures such as timber framing and decking. Some gardens, however, are very plant or tree oriented - especially larger gardens. These considerations can be used to weigh which individual you choose to work with and trust to produce a garden you are really happy to be in and enjoy. It has to be said that every garden design landscaper has their own distinctive approach and so each can offer something from their portfolio of work that may excite your interest. If you haven't done so already, spend some time looking through various landscape design galleries online or in magazines. Professional landscaping can be very affordable depending on what you want to do. If you have a good idea about what you want in advance it helps so you can set your budget parameters. And don’t forget to choose quality products because, in the end, you tend to get what you pay for. If you clearly define your budget first, then you can begin your landscape design project with a set level that you won’t go above. Most of all: really enjoy making the most of what is one of the most enjoyable ‘rooms’ to ‘decorate’ in your entire house!

The Moonlight Walk is back for a second year after raising £35,000 for Treetops Hospice last year. Are you up for joining in the challenge this year?
l a e p p a e z e bre
The ladies-only event on Friday, 10 June 2011 is a 7 mile circular walk around Derby city centre, starting and ending at Derby Rugby Club. The route takes walkers through the city centre and into the suburbs of Allestree and Darley Abbey. The event which raises money for adults in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire with life-limiting illnesses was launched last year. More than 400 ladies walked the first event raising around £35,000, with our biggest fundraiser collecting £730. Julie Taylor, a district nurse from Chellaston, raised more than £300 last year and walked in memory of her father John Taylor who died in October 2009. Julie said: “My father had help from the Hospice at Home team which was much needed as mum and I were very tired. It meant my mum could have a good rest while my Dad was being looked after.” Jill Day,61,from Belper also did the Moonlight Walk last year and raised £425. It was her way of saying thank you to Treetops Hospice for supporting her family during her father's illness. Jill said: “My mum and I received such fantastic support from Treetops which meant my mum could sleep. I found out about the Moonlight Walk when I was sorting out my mother's house after she died. She'd been sent a letter because of her connection to the hospice and I noticed the date of the walk was also my birthday. I felt like it was meant to be and so I signed up, I'll be sure to sign up again this year.” George Cameron, chief executive of Treetops Hospice, said:“It costs us £1.6 million to provide our services every year and most of this has to come from fundraising and charitable giving. The £35,000 raised from last year's Moonlight Walk will help us support so many people with palliative care needs and we are so grateful to those who sign up for this year's fantastic event.” You can register online: www.moonlightwalkers.co.uk or E-mail: moonlight@treetopshospice.org.uk Call: 0115 949 1264

Representatives from Broxtowe Friends groups from the Friends of Greenwood Community Forum planted a new woodland copse at Brierley Forest Park, Huthwaite in January to celebrate their 10th anniversary. The tree planting event was held thanks to a grant from Nottinghamshire County Council’s Local Improvement Scheme. Representatives from the Friends of Brinsley Headstocks and Colliers Wood in Eastwood joined other groups in the Greenwood area to plant fifteen trees in the newly created “Greenwood Grove” at Brierley Forest, the venue for the very first Friends of Greenwood meeting in 2000. The Forum, co-ordinated by the Greenwood Community Forest Team, is made up of members representing thirty five Friends groups who act as the eyes and ears on green spaces and parks within the Greenwood Community Forest. The Forum began with ten groups and has built up over the years. They meet near a different green space four times a year to share experience and knowledge. Colin Barson, Chair of the Friends of Greenwood Community Forum since 2004, and Friends of Brinsley Headstocks, said:“Brierley Forest Park was the venue for our very first meeting and also a flagship park within the Greenwood Community Forest. When the Forum started we had a handful of dedicated volunteers and as new groups have formed, we have swelled our ranks.” Coun Richard Butler, Nottinghamshire County Council’s cabinet member for environment and sustainability, said he was delighted to help such a proactive and successful group. He added:“Nottinghamshire is well known for its green spaces and woodland and groups like The Friends of Greenwood help us to maintain that mantle. “May I also thank the many volunteers who turn out on a regular basis to look after our green spaces and parks and keep them in such wonderful conditions.”

An evening of music and dancing is being held in support of the Cystic Fibrosis Trust on Friday 18th February when local band ‘HottBoxx’ will be playing at Beeston Youth and Community Centre. HottBoxx is a rocking five piece band which has been delighting audiences up and down the country with its special blend of rock ‘n’ roll, blues, zydeco, gospel and country. Two members of the band live in Chilwell, and have two grandsons who suffer from cystic fibrosis. CF is the most common life-threatening inherited disease and currently has no cure; the expected life span of a CF patient is about 35 years. It is a disease in which the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system, become clogged with thick sticky mucous resulting in infections and inflammation. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only national charity solely dedicated to funding all aspects of CF including research into new treatments and the search for a cure. The Community Centre is in West End, Beeston. The bar will be open from 7pm and the band will be on stage at about 8pm. Tickets are £6. For further information phone (0115) 925 2460.
