The Sanibel Fire and Rescue District recently responded to a vehicle fire at an island home

On Jan 19 at about 9:40 a m , fire crews were dispatched to a residence on North Yachtsman Drive in response to a report of a vehicle on fire The commercial work van involved was parked out front

“The fire was quickly contained to the vehicle,” Fire Chief Kevin Barbot said

The crews were able to quickly extinguish the flames, with no damage to nearby structures

“No damage occurred to any property,” he said “No injuries occurred,” Barbot added.

The cause of the fire was unknown as of Jan 20 “(The) cause of the fire is under investigation,” he said, adding that the cause is “undetermined due to the extensive damage ” c a p t i v a s a n i b e l . c o m
