Seven Steps to Start New Healthy Habits! 1. Start your morning with a prayer. Example: Our Father who art in heaven, hollowed be thy name. The kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
2. Mirror work daily. Every morning look at yourself in the mirror and say, Example: “I love myself, “or “I’m willing to learn to love myself,” “I love everything about my body,” “I love who I’m becoming.”
3. Say your daily affirmations. Example: “I can easily communicate with others,” “I am surrounded by Love, Joy and harmony,” “I am beautiful,” “New opportunities are coming my way.”
4. Write down a list of things you are grateful for. Example: “I am grateful to for new relationships,” I am grateful to create wealth.” “I am grateful to wake up each morning,” “I am grateful for my health.
5. Write your short term and long-term goals. Example: make a five-year plan and a ten-year plan. Ask yourself where you would like to be in five years. What about 10 years? Write down the steps that you will need to take in order to accomplish your goals. Start with small things and work yourself up. Give yourself praise each time you complete one.
6. Start an exercise program that best fits your life and schedule and start making healthier choices on food. Example: walking 20-30 minutes a day is a great start. Take away fried and processed foods from your daily routine.
7. Tell your children, parents, spouse (partner) and friends you love them every day. Or tell them as much as possible. I know this can be difficult to some people. It’s important to have healthy relationships with others. Love others as you love yourself.
Baby steps are better than nothing.
