The tradition of the engagement ring began in 1477 when Archduke Maximillian of Austria gave Mary of Burgundy a gold ring set with a diamond as a token of love. There are now so many different varieties of metals and diamond cuts for engagement rings that finding the perfect ring for you can be tricky!
